This week's lil warm-up doodles, this time accompanied by some of my more recent figure studies! Been really loving working on toned paper so I can work on how I establish values when I shade.

There was a recent post on Twitter where an artist talked about blocking in light & dark values as "rivers" that move and flow throughout the figure, rather than applying highlights and shadows to each part of the body individually (something I'm prone to and trying to move away from!!). I tried applying this method during our last figure drawing sesh and was really happy with my results!
