Hey y'all, I just now realized that I've been at it with Patreon for almost 9 months!! Between the 15 original pieces I've made, 72 kind souls who've subscribed, and bigger and bigger ideas on the horizon, I seriously could not be more thankful! I halfway never expected to get this far on my art alone, and I'm grateful to to folks who've made it possible: You!

That all being said, there's always room for improvement (remember when I switched over to monthly? Holy hell this is so much better)! While the content of the illustrations/comics is always mostly gonna be subject to my tastes, stuff like rewards, how they're doled out, perks, and posting schedules can always be revisited! So lets look at my rewards individually and talk about how to improve them! Please, PLEASE, feel free to leave any personal critiques or suggestions in the comments!

– Commission WIP's ($2) – You don't have to tell me twice, I've been slacking on posting these! I worry that posting every stage of every commission (sketch, lines, colors, finished) will lead to a ton of unnecessary clutter! The only solution I've come up with so far is to batch-upload progress pictures, but since I work through each commission one at a time, this only really works for the sketch phase! How do y'all think I can do better here?

– Miscellany Sketches ($2+) – #2 on the list of Stuff I Haven't Been Great About Posting, for many of the same reasons as above! Truth be told, I don't doodle and sketch that often, and what I do sketch up is usually not exclusive to Patreon for long (I'm a little trigger happy over on Twitter). Maybe I could bundle them into a weekly downloadable pack of some kind?

– Patreon-Exclusive Illustrations ($2+) – Even though I've completely switched over to a monthly schedule now, I aim to have something posted here once every two weeks! Once my income and finances allow for it, I'd really love to switch over to weekly updates!

– High Res Commissions ($6+) – This one's always been a little tough, for many of the same concerns about clutter I stated above! Currently, I don't produce enough commissions to warrant a weekly or even biweekly posting, so I've been batch-posting them at the end of each month. While this keeps things cleaned up, I can definitely see how waiting up to a month to get a reward can be frustrating!

– High Res Patreon-Exclusive Illustrations/PSD's ($6/10+) – Since I'm only posting these once every two weeks, and they're exclusive to this site, I have no qualms about posting them separate from the original $2+ posting.

That all being said, there's a few changes to the $10+ tier that I've been considering!

– Changing it so polls are available to all patrons instead of just $10+ patrons.

– Opening a Telegram or Discord channel for $10+ patrons

– Actually investing in Picarto Premium so I can host private streams for $10+ patrons.

– Are PSD's even a good reward? Are folks enjoying these?

– Raffling off free sketches for $10+ patrons (these would make for fantastic warm-ups!)

And... ??? What have you seen other artists provide that you enjoyed? Lets start a lil discussion! <3

tl;dr - How can I do better?

PSDs are a bit strange, I like being able to look at them, but it's not like I am going to really edit or change much, it might help art folks that are patrons of yours though. The combo of private streams and free sketches sounds nice, a patreon exclusive stream before your normal streams just for the $10+ people were you warm up with raffles or something. But in general I am pretty happy already, I don't think you need to do that much more.

I feel like you're one of the best artists i've supported on Patreon so far to be honest!

I would ditch the PSDs. I've seen this many times before, but personally, it's not a big deal. Not sure what raffling off a free sketch means, cause if it's free, what's the raffle part? Oh, in comments you have to shift-enter to get a new line. Neat. You're doing awesome. Really appreciated the work you've been doing! Many rawrs, much barks! *hugs*

I think I might at least swap the PSD's for something else along the lines of streaming & doodling for folks! Seems like a nice tradeoff, if anything ;>

Turns out: Raffling on Patreon is, uh, technically gambling and ain't allowed here, so I might have to rethink that part anyway! And thank you!! Many kissus

You're far and above the most engaging artist I've supported on here. As much as I thought I would enjoy the PSDs I don't really download or or look at them very often, and I much prefer the WIP posts. You might want to be careful with any sort of raffle, I remember a while ago Patreon was debating making those against the TOS, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

I don't think you should be too worried about 'clutter'. I'd say more content is good, and preferably spread out rather than batches.

Oh and btw, it's so awesome to see the projects that you're passionate about, you can tell how much love goes into them.

This is good to know! Now that May's rolled around, I think I may start posting individual high-res commissions instead of in monthly batches!
