You can't keep a tasmanian tiger down for too long until it finally 'rangs its way up to the top! It's the multiple poll second placer but it's now the finally finished acer (go with it)... Ty the Tasmanian tiger!

Well this one was a long time coming! Ever since it being a frequent option in polls it always lost out but now its time is here. I want to say I had most of this demake finished maybe 7 months ago? I think I mentioned in the Sly Cooper demake I always was more of a Ty head myself but can see why Sly captured the hearts of so many.

Ty is something I could only play a bit of growing up as it was owned by a friend who I think had quite strict parents, but years down the line I got to play through the entire thing first hand and perhaps all for the better. Highly nostalgic and like a trip down memory lane to the mascot platformer days. The wonderful aesthetic of everything being aussie down to level themes, the bosses and enemies, the voice acting was an absolute treat.

If you haven't checked out Ty and are a fan of early 2000's mascot platformers, check it out! It had a HD port/collection a while back and is available on switch/PC.

Same! There is always Ty the Tasmanian 4 but pixels and Ty look so good together~ Glad I could capture a lot of the original game in Gameboy form :D.

this is another one i played maybe once when visiting That One Cousin With The Modded PS2, so i have almost no memory of the gameplay or aesthetic, but a quick imagesearch suggests you captured the spirit of it once again. his sprite is super charming and i love the little wallabies (?) in the cages. as usual your menus look a lot more robust & decorated than most gb developers bothered with, but that's part of the fun, eh? glad you finally got around to resurrecting your fav... now if only we could do the same for the real thylacine :'(

Glad to have captured the spirit! Seems like our childhoods were quite alike, just replace cousin with friend! Was very happy with how his sprite came out, think I've finally nailed working with 24x32 sprites! And thank you kindly, I think I went way overboard with the menu and didn't keep an eye enough on it being quite functional/readable on an actual dmg screen. I think part of devs leaving menus/ui as bare bones is just the amount of tile space they had to work with and how much they'd want to save that space for enemies/backgrounds/cutscenes. Really is a tricky battle! And ah yeah shame about the real world ones, hopefully science can bring 'em back! Until then we'll have Ty ;D.
