Ahhh here we go, that's more like it.

Back in the saddle and with Kirby no less. Yes, it had to be done, Kirby and the Forgotten Land. I previously mentioned I'd been living/playing vicariously through a good friend and thoroughly enjoyed watching the game get played. (Elden ring was my big game purchase of the year haha!).

Truly is wonderful the team who worked on the game got to bring Kirby into full on three, 3D, three dee dee dee, if you know what I mean. I believe this as a concept dated back to either the Gamecube era, or the N64 era and they had to switch to the 2.5D style the games used on more powerful systems. Which makes sense as it's the good ol' tried and true 2D Kirby platforming action with 3D models.

But with this in  mind I did think that that sense of depth and the proverbial Z axis was something I should try and replicate and landing on a beat em up/belt scroller type deal was what I think worked best. But fret not, I did a mock up of what Forgotten Land would look like if in the style of Dreamland 1 or 2! (Which I jokingly regret doing because of how much I prefer it haha...;D)

Also imagine a world where Forgotten Land was created to test out the tilt sensor for Kirbys tilt n tumble. Or is it a more accurate thought to think in that world they had left over sensors from tilt n tumble and decided to throw it into this fictional Forgotten land game...food for thought! :D.

This is fantastic! Great job as always (also just learned you had stickers for sale 👀 got myself some!)

Glad you like it and indeed! Thought I might as well make some of the sprites into stickers, and ho great choice. Love those fish sprites :D.

always appreciate how many different parts of a game you replicate, right down to the various minigames, treasure roads and bonus stages. the third picture is actually giving me Mega Man Battle Network vibes (which might be one of the only genres kirby HASN'T tried out yet). Given the setting, turning the game into a Kirby City Ransom for the pseudo-3d effect makes a lot of sense! I feel for the poor alternate universe kids trying to beat those brutal tilt-sensor bonus levels on an unlit gameboy screen...

Thank you so much! I'm always torn between the idea of switching to two screen demakes, a title screen and then the main gameplay chunk but at my core I really do enjoy trying to do as much of a game as possible The main gameplay chunk like for Kirby, being in a level, that's the main bulk of the meal for sure, but the gachapon/figures, the time attacks, the tilt n tumble, that's so much of the game as well for me and are the sides that make the meal feel whole. And glad some River City Ransom/nekketsu kouha kunio-kun vibe came through! And haha, hopefully they had a clear sunny day or a gameboy worm light of some sort to help them :D. (Also Kirby Battle Network sounds so good, I actually did a similar thing on my own twitter - https://twitter.com/2bitcrook/status/987833903703568385?lang=hi , great minds must think alike :D)
