OK I HAVE AN ISSUE WITH BULK BICEPS! Or rather with what it implies about Scootaloo. Bulk Biceps can FRICKIN fly! Scootaloo cannot. Instead, Scootaloo uses her wings to propell her scooter. Her wings if you put her side by side with Bulk Biceps are basically the same if not bigger size than his. Yet, he can fly and she cannot. One could make the argument that her magical ability of being a pegasas is allocated more toward Earth ponies as mentioned in the above comment about Fluttershy. But I'm not buying it. This plot-hole (is that what I should call it), problem, oversight? Well whatever this has bugged me more than almost anything else about the show. Please can SOMEONE explain this to me.

Yes push your friends out of their comfort zone every once in a while to help them conquer their fears. Or to help them grow.

I remember episodes like this providing evidence to debates that are pretty heavily implied later in the show. Each race has their own form of magic. It's still magic, but Earth ponies are attuned to nature, while Pegasi will have specializations like making clouds, or snowflakes for winter. Or in Rainbow's case, just get a hearty dose of Speedster power. The theory was that Fluttershy has ancestry with Earth Ponies, and she's just the one mare who got their talents. It's why she's magically gifted enough to speak to animals, but not able to utilize that magic for flight. Alicorns have a nice balance of the three magical sources, and are usually more gifted in their original race's powerset. Celestia and Luna were Unicorns, this we know. Cadence was a Pegasus herself. She's not all that magically gifted, so she's not moving the sun. But she can move hearts and minds.
