This episode does have a really interesting concept. There are a lot of stories out there about humans being treated like animals by higher beings, and often they'd be depicted as visibly suffering, But I think the idea of humans being content with living this way due to not knowing any other life can be an even more disturbing concept if done right. These "zoomans" have no individuality or free will, which means they've been stripped of the things that make them human. But the way they reacted to being "hurt" shows that there's still some humanity left in them.
