This is my favorite episode for various reasons first and foremost it gives us some of the first and only(not quite) look at the DeMayo family and how they view Greg's life choices. There are reasons on both sides that Steven doesn't know them or where they are. No one person is at fault for the separation despite how Andy paints the picture. I also love the general message that just because you don't agree with everyone's life choices/styles doesn't mean you can't still be a loving accepting family. There is another show, Amphibia, that has a great line "Turns out if you embrace change instead of clinging to the past, you get a say in what the future looks like." I think this sums up Andy in this episode well.

I love this show's thesis: anyone can be your family; anyone can be an ally. You don't have to change who you are. All you have to do is change your mind.
