Hooman Reacts To Season 3 Episode 1 Steven Universe:

This episode is super cute! There's something about watching Stephen go from a boy to a team in this episode that becomes very apparent.  this entire episode was an amazing balance of emotions you feel when you're a kid, and emotions when you feel when you're a teen.  On the one hand, the purest part of this episode is the fact that Stephen just doesn't want to lose Connie as a friend. Although I'm starting to see signs of a budding relationship especially during that dance scene. Also I love how they portrayed the awkwardness of overthinking, overanalyzing, when you're in that stage of being a teenager. Also kind of the underlying theme of trying to be someone else because you think that's what the other person wants.

Steven has done this twice in the series. That one time where he agreed with Connie just because it was her favorite book series.  He cares about Connie so much that sometimes he's willing to change himself thinking that the person he is isn't good enough. Although with Connie's reassurance he is reminded that he is good enough every time which is JUST SO SWEET!

You know its a bad idea when even Amethyst tells you it's not good for you.

Steven's age is to do with his mindset. In "Too many Birthdays", he aged rapidly because he started thinking like an adult and then like an old man. He stays the same with the Gems because despite being a Gem himself, they treat him like a child. It's also why he's still more childish than a usual 14 year old would be.

I really like that bit where Greg picks up and shows a record with the name "Stella" on it to Garnet. This is a little reference to the fact Garnet is voiced by "Estelle". Fun fact.

My boy Steven already thinking about putting a ring on it.
