Hey everybody, this is my Johnny Cash Hurt reaction. Hopefully everyone's doing all right and to the people watching thank you for being here. I do want to make a very important note. I'm NOT (not scream at you just want to make sure people see it 😂) taking any more requests I'm just trying to finish these old ones and trying to do one a week to make sure we can maintain a quality reaction.

No I have not forgotten about your request, and it will be done that is my promise to you but I want it to be done well. Let me know if you like the changes that we made to the format to make it a little bit better. And without further Ado Johnny Cash Hurt.

When Trent Reznor originally wrote this song (for Nine Inch Nails) it was about his struggles with drug and alcohol addiction. Years later, Reznor gets a call about Johnny Cash (I googled it for you, that was actually his real name) wanting to cover one of his songs, he didn't believe it and was blown away and told them of course he could do it (because who says no to Johnny Cash!?) and then he promptly forgot the conversation ever happened. A few months after that, he gets a cd in the mail with this song on it and it blew him away, he has now gone on record a few times saying that this isn't his song anymore, Hurt now belongs to Johnny Cash.

When you said "no more requests" I hope that you meant no more for now, not until you get through the ones you have now. Having said that, I do like the new format of your music reactions. Putting your impressions of the song itself at the end was a good choice as that's what most of us are watching your reactions for: your thoughts and feelings about the tone and message of the song as a whole. Then, because there are likely to be some who tune in for it, putting your analysis on the musical structure of the song at the end was a good idea as well. That way those who want to see it can, and those who don't have any interest in it can choose to end the viewing there. Also it would be a good idea to include timestamp markers in the description for those who want to skip to the final thoughts and/or the analysis sections (at least when it's posted on YouTube, I don't know how it will work on Patreon.)

the woman watching him is his wife June Carter Cash, she died three months later and Cash himself died in September of that year, that always puts an even more bitter flavor to the video for me, which just makes me love it even more, songs that can make me feel are always the best

also the house it was filmed was their house of thirty years burned down four years after their deaths
