Aight, so right off the bat here's the good: I actually made something! Below are three links: Two of them are the new card and no it's not Alex YIIK (Slide 1) nor is it Magos Dominus Faustinius. (S2) Those are just there to be spoiler foiler which seems to be doing it's job. Three cheers for deranged shitposting!

The Good:

Rias Hotfix.

Anywho, so this time around I made two versions of one card: One for Studio, and one for the main game. Why? Because of this Garten of Banban lookin' skin texture. (S3) Probably not the smartest decision to experiment during a warm-up project and it certainly won't be the last ill-advised decision in this post. So like, there's these new shaders floating around and I figured why not liven things up a bit by adding pores?

For the most part, in gameplay you barely notice it, and when you do it's a nice subtle touch. Initially, I assumed that scene I took the screenshot from just had some weird lighting setting but it got me thinking: How many other scenes would cause that effect? I never touch Studio unless I need to showcase a new card so I'm always behind on the new n' latest tech. Maybe that's just how people light things now?

So, to not blight the world with popcorn skin textured waifus, I'm doing this. It's not hard for one to fix it themselves (Just hit the reset texture button in Material Editor. Save the card then load it. Boom: No more pores.) but hey, if I can make things more convenient for people why the hell not eh? That said, while grabbing screenshots for this showcase,  the popcorn skin didn't "pop" up much, if at all so maybe I'm being overly cautious.

Specifically for Cordelia, (S4) the armor I stole from the other Cordelia (S15-16) uses Another Ramp to give her armor a glossy effect. I have no idea how that shit works or why it's called that but what I do know it can cause lighting issues if you mess with it. So I changed it by copy pasting the shit I used for Melodiana's armor and applying it to Cordelia. I think it actually works better in Studio than the original version. However, the effect is a little excessive so I stuck with the OG version for the Studio card.

As for the third link: So uh, I didn't properly test Rias. When she takes her top off in her going home outfit, she also removes her arms too. Woops! That should be fixed now.

The Bad:

Hey so remember when I said I was gonna post something free but low quality? Well, the original plan was to just make the hair n' eyes myself, stealing everything else from others to make Cordelia. Heck, the only thing she was slated to have was her armor and her swimsuit alt (S5) from Fire Emblem: Heroes.  But then several things happened.

As I was gathering reference material for Cordelia, I came across these drawings (S6-10) and I thought "Hey these look neat! I'd rather make this than some stupid Santa outfit." (BTW: Just to clarify: I did not draw a single one of these. They ain't mine.)  Is this straying too far from the path? Yeah, but like, given how I based my Cordelia entirely off this sketch (S11) I was already knee deep in off-model territory. That and like, I think it's better to make outfits that people are going to actually use rather than sticking strictly to what's canon.

Cause like, there are several outfits I've made that I spent hours on that I never end up using myself. That's just a waste of time so even if they're not canon, at least they'll see some use.

Really, this entire project was just me trying to salvage something out of a mess. Like the moment I saw her armor I was like "Oh man I bet I can easily make a Cordelia no problem woo woo!" only to realize during the reference gathering phase I don't care that much for Cordelia. I mean she's not ugly, she's just not something I would be down to spend a month workin' on. That is until I saw that sketch. Had that not existed, I would've dropped her in favor of like, maybe Lilina? I do have one in the works but right now I'm focusing on making new characters rather than revamping old ones so she's going to be on the backburner for another year or two.

So S6 is what inspired the school uniform (S12), I tried to remake S7 in S13, tho unlike every other card I make, I didn't break out the silicone so she's not exactly 1 to 1 to that specific Cordelia.

S8+9 combined together created S14. Now if you never played FE: Awakening, it's canon that Cordelia wears boob plate specifically to pad out her chest. I tried to replicate that through Pushup and while it does work, it also doesn't make too much sense logically speaking. Like, how would you pad out a shirt that has a hole underneath it??? Wot's a bra?

While she doesn't have a Spring alt yet, I think it's safe to assume it's not gonna look like S10. S14 sure does look nice tho. This ain't me tootin' my own horn here, oh no if you see some crazy shader tech you can safely assume I just ripped it off of someone else. In this case, that would be Alvarna. Gods they're so good at their job. You can't see in the screenshot, but when you do load the outfit for yourself it's got some nice chromatic aberration goin' on.

I took one of their bunny girl outfits and like, slapped a red filter on it. The jacket is also just a MMMDRR (Might be one too many Ms there.) texture I recolored. 'bout the only original things about that outfit are her shoes, the tail, the tie, cuffs, and her bunny ears.

Boy I wish I could say I stole the swimsuit from a different Cordelia, sure would've made my life easier. Nope, had to make that bad boy from scratch. For all the effort put into it, it's not very impressive. But fuck it, it's good enough. I hate those shell gloves of her so much.

The frustration isn't the bad, oh no that's expected. No, the bad is that since I actually did spend time making shit, even if a lot of it is reappropriated from other things, enough effort was put into it that I'm gonna charge y'all for it. That said, it's not gonna be for some time as Patreon is currently on the fritz right now with their payment system.

Something about shifting their base of operations to Ireland because of the corporate tax breaks. Guess they forgot to tell the banks that as they all freaked out when their customers were getting charged from an entirely different country. This resulted in people getting automatically unsubbed as a fraud fail safe measure. Apparently Patreon is working on it but until that's fixed, I'm going to hold off on charging.

Which is bad for me because I kinda need some petty cash right now. Okay so as not to concern y'all, it's more of a want rather than a need.

The Possibly Ugly:

So like, I'm hoping that I packed in enough content and despite being out of practice, it's still good enough to be actually worth something rather than being a blatant cash crab. If you think this is worth the money, then stick around. Otherwise, feel free to drop out.

Lemme know if y'all have any mod issues. I picked up some mods that have mundane utilities (Like being an extra copy of an already existing item.) but with confusing and ambigious names. e.g "[Unknown] Unknown v1.0 (16)" Yeah that's sure helpful innit.

So yeah, this should go public whenever the hell Patreon unfucks themselves. Ideally within a few days so I can make sure this card works for everyone as I haven't had anyone to test it yet.

Anyways, see ya when I see ya!
