I think the implication at the end of the episode is the Painted Lady was brought back by Katara and everyone helping the village and cleaning the river. The Spirits that show up in Avatar are pretty much always very closely tied with nature. They refer to "angry spirits" earlier in the show and it's usually related to some disruption of the environment. Cleaning up the mess the Fire Nation factory caused helped bring vitality back to not only the town, but its guardian spirit. Either way, I think this is one of the more "filler" type episodes, though it gives Katara some love in the character progression area, and it's MUCH better than the S1 counterpart - the not-so-great divide.

unfortunately I can't, viacom is particularly intense with their copyright filter. even a blurred player will get the video blocked. I'm sorry, I know it's frustrating
