Should the 'food for mermaids' turn sims into  mermaids (similar to how kelp works) ?

I'd be be down for mermaid foods turning sims into mermaids as long as sims couldn't make the foods autonomously.

I voted no. Its a great idea but in reality it could cause a lot of issues. Game could end up overrun by mers, haha!!

I like ^lalaatje's suggestion or maybe so many recipes need to be 'unlocked' by eating them. A Sim really needs to be trying to turn into a mermaid by cooking/eating a bunch of mermaid foods, not just something that can happen accidentally while being an adventurous eater. Or maybe there's a Pop Up preference picker like, "Sim D has really being enjoying these mermaid eats, should Sim D grow a tail and gills?" [No, Yes, Ask Again Later] I'm picturing something like how personality traits/preferences are discovered during game play and then a small transformation takes places that adds the mermaid occult to your Sim. No idea how complex this all would be but it could be a fun way to add mermaids to our games without having to 'build' one in CAS.

Maybe do a few. That way sims who want to turn into them have other items than the kelp and those who do not can avoid those items.

this would add so much fun! maybe some treats could do one and others could do the other? i can already picture my chef sim accidentally turning herself into a mermaid haha

I like the idea of maybe a few dishes or a special dessert or something. It would add a challenge if sims were accidentally turned into mermaids though. Good storyplay.

The tea will give hydration and the fine dining gourmet dish will turn them into mermaids! I will make more in future too
