IMPS: MAKO mates amu and leeru (Patreon)

amu is his official name now! theres also leeru, which is often shortened to ru. 

this is amu in his full size, 30s like how mako changed drastically in his second growth. mako is only marginally taller than amu, and their body shapes differ. as mako appears more x shaped, with a wide chest thinner waist and thick legs, amu is more rectangular, being overall thick and with more fat than mako does. 

since both ru and amu dont have large horns, their spousal bands are on their arms or legs, somtimes as a necklace and if amu is particularly gucci, earings.

since imps are polygamous it isn't uncommon for two imps to be bonded and have a child, while still looking for other mates to finish their unit. even single, having these pregnancy and childrearing tattoos, makes your attractiveness as a mate increase drastically. as one of the most important and valuable aspects of their society is how they create the future generation. its why at the minimum, one of the partners should dedicate a role to parenthood, and is given all the amenities needed to provide a great environment to raising and fostering children. 

its a very strong aspect in their negotiations and contractual obligations when looking for mates and assessing their potential and fitness. they make a very serious effort to finding the best pairs for their respective units, to ensure a lifelong marriage between all 3-4 spouses. 

in mako's unit, they decided the order of conception, and roughly and idea of when they will try to have children. leeru was the first to go, as mako was busy with his extreme duties, and ru really wanted to have one. it was agreed that amu and leeru was be the parents, as leeru is a weak person from being stunted early on in his life, as well as generally frail, and amu is close to  mako's level of fitness, thinking that their child together will have the best potential for success. apox(? for now thats the name for the other male mate) will be paired with mako, to also ensure a success. apox isnt frail, but is just an average imp but dwarfed by the giants that are mako and amu. apox is also a very busy person, unable to stay home for long periods of time. amu and leeru are both gentle imps and amu has a perfect temperament and the patience for childrearing. despite being a tattooist, he does have more time to enjoy being a homemaker. leeru is also patient, and grew up taking care of children in the community. so he has good experience. all of this was discussed and decided for the best long-term success of their family. 

btw leeru is the shortest member of the group, while apox is at least average for his size and amu and mako are on the taller side. leeru does have insecurities over his frail nature, and even losing the chance to grow his horns due to early life malnourishment and stunted growth. if everything else was the same, he wished that his horns could've been spared. however he is deeply loved by all of his mates, and their whole unit is a mismatch rather than a carefully vetted group. leeru was with apox before mako and amu met them, and so when leeru was added, apox was too by default, and they went on dates for how well they fitted together despite the mismatch of traits. all in all they harmonized well and that's why mako felt that this was the perfect complete unit in his eyes. it may have been confusing to some of the other villagers that two of the most wanted imps did not look for a matching pair (as in other mates that had the same level of fitness, strength, and even status that either amu or mako had) it wasn't enough to thwart mako, who was a naturally carefree imp.

anyways, this is what ru and amu looks like in their 30s, both share the parenting role, while mako and apox either work for the village (hunter, warrior) or make money or bring in goods from the market. amu would go an do tattooing in the center house of the village (the place where sacred or meaningful events happen, tattooing being one of them) and carefully plan out what needs to be done, which can take a few days, before returning home for another few days. rinse and repeat. 

while apox would kinda go on long business trips as he became well known for making connection and negotiating between merchants and even larger families. he would be off for a month or longer, eventually retiring early because of how much he missed his family, and is missing out on all the baby milestones. he would end up working at the center house, where the connections he made were more than willing to seek his advice at his abode.

last thing to note: imps do gain breasts during pregnancy, but can vary when they appear, at most growing in the later months. there is the occasion where an imp doesn't grow them, which either a friend, relative, or a kind villager will offer to nurse for the imp who couldn't. its no biggie due to their collective childcare society, but it can hurt on a personal level.
