I don’t know, it’s initially about lonelyness And reframing situations for your self. one character (a) is all alone and desires for company, and even if that means it’s a transactional one.  character b is doing something already looked down upon (or did, as he is exiled. ) and is somewhat alone in his kind. He finds Solace in a human (who’s lonely but reasons yet to be known ) and finds his gentleness and Quaint demeanor enjoyable. Even goes far enough to continue their transactional relationship, regardless if he needs to.
