Season 41's logo was just revealed by CBS. Could this be a back to basics season of sorts?

This will definitely be a first for the series. The thing is, if they later have themed season titles again, it’ll be oddly humorous to refer to this as just “41” lol

Depends on how back to basics the season is. I will always maintain that seasons 13-20 were the perfect format for survivor because everything the producers added was in response to a legitimate problem the show had. Problem: it is nearly impossible for the underdogs to get back in the game, thus creating a predictable and frustrating game state where we have to wait for all the underdogs to leave before we can get back to playing survivor. Solution: here's the hidden immunity idol, a fantastic comeback mechanic that helps underdogs get back in the game, while also creating exciting and interesting game states for the viewers. Problem: there's a possibility that one of the final 2 will get injured to the point that they can't make it to final tribal (like what almost happened in season 12), thus creating a disappointing and anti-climactic finale for a season. Solution: create the final 3, thus insulting the finale from a possible injury (or a season from multiple evacs, like in seasons 16). Problem: fans of the survival aspect of the show aren't getting as much as the want. Solution: here's an entire island dedicated to surviving on your own.
