And so I came back from holidays... Time to restart compy!

...

...

Well, seems to start on, but no video signals... Let's try screens on another computer... seems to work... Hum hum.... so it's an issue on your side, Compy.

Well, I tried removing the Graphic card... Didn't work

The RAM? didn't work

the motherboard and processor only... Didn't work.

It's quite worrisome :/

Well, I'm no specialist, merely someone who just assembled his own PC a couple of years ago, but when it doesn't start the bios properly even with the bare minimum, it looks like I have a serious issue.

On the bad side, I cannot use the PC anymore, and I don't even know which part doesn't work: I might say it comes from the motherboard though :/ That also means I cannot use my tablet at the moment, and that my drawing data (including WIP drawings) is currently stuck within the SSDs

On the bright side, I have a Surface Pro which I'm currently using to write his post... and to also order a pen! I should receive it by this weekend, so I will try to see if it works drawing directly on the Surface Pro =) Let us hope!

If someone has ideas about what could have happened to my computer, I'd be happy to hear it out, though the symptoms seem pretty generic.

But I might need to buy a new motherboard and a new processor it seems :/

*sigh*

I just hope I can draw properly on the surface pro for now

Does the power supply work? That's a common failure point. Sometimes they sorta-kinda work enough to light some LEDs, but not enough to get the CPU up and running.

I'm pretty sure I've suffered from exactly that point of failure myself. Drove me absolutely insane trying to figure out what was going on.

I can't help you on this sorry I have no clue. Hope it is solved soon.^^

At this point, I'd consider checking the prices of local computer repair shops, at least to see if they can diagnose the issue, since you've confirmed it's not the RAM or Video Card, and probably not the power supply. Since you don't reach the BIOS and you do seem to be getting power, I'd strongly suspect the MOBO or CPU. Getting the computer repaired with the correct parts is probably cheaper than getting a new one or getting multiple replacement parts yourself to test with unless you were planning to upgrade all of the replacement bits anyway, or the local repair shops are on the expensive side and your computer is extremely budget in parts (which it might be if it is old enough, although good luck finding working replacements easily in that case). I hope you manage to get it fixed easily and cheaply!

Have you tried doing a hard BIOS reset? Depending on the motherboard, there is usually a way to completely reset it. It's not necessarily the problem, but it's a possibility.

I tried a hard BIOS reset, but it didn't work again... will consider local shops this weekend

For a second I thought you had two steaks hanging in the case.

Any luck? As a techie, I'm curious what went wrong!
