I’m excited to expand last month’s guest artist design, the Dandy Waistcoat, into our regular and curvy Charm size ranges to create the Lady Dandy! Working with Dandy has been a dream, and I know you’re going to love this striking vintage-inspired waistcoat. Sew up this fitted vest in our regular Charm size range (2-20 and 18-34 with bust cups A-H) for yourself, and then create a matching set using the unisex companion waistcoat (in sizes XS-5XL) for your nearest and dearest!

(Below you can see the line art for the unisex version on the left and the Lady Dandy on the right.)

The original collaboration with Dandy Wellington began as a unisex waistcoat based on one in his personal vintage collection - but we couldn't resist expanding such a beautiful design into our regular Charm ranges. This collaboration was so much fun, and I'm sure you'll agree the result is fantastic!

To help with those welt pockets, we've created a short tutorial video for you - the pocket is easy to sew, but tricky to explain, so the video will be very helpful.

Don’t forget to share your finished creations with the hashtag #dandywaistcoat - and be sure to tag @dandywellington, too!

Xoxo,

Gertie

P.S. As a reminder, please do not share these photos or patterns to other social media sites so that we can keep creating exclusive new content for you.

I just received this book, which would be a great addition to anyone wishing to embellish their waistcoat. It's pure eyecandy! : https://shop.theschoolofhistoricaldress.org.uk/product/waistcoats-from-the-hopkins-collection-c-1720-1950/?v=79cba1185463

Has anyone made a sew along for this or even taken some pictures of the process? I'm getting ready to stitch the facing/lining to the outer pieces and am finding the instructions difficult to follow. I have always struggled with written instruction so it's quite possibly just me but was hopeful there were some visual resources out there.
