Meet the Las Vegas Halter Top! For this design, I was inspired by collared halter bodices of the '50s, as well the King of Rock 'n' Roll himself. This fabulous  top can be made with or without the swingy peplum, and with or without the dramatic collar. The gathered bustline, fitted midriff, and super sexy back straps add interest to any ensemble!

Make the Las Vegas Halter Top as a separate to be worn with capri pants or a pencil skirt or omit the peplum and pair it with any of our interchangeable bottoms including the Lamour and Liz skirts, Loretta Shorts, and the free Charm Circle Skirt and Charm Double Circle Skirt. Or just add a cute gathered dirndl-style skirt. The possibilities are endless!

And now, about the photo shoot looks! I was excited to fulfill a long-time fantasy of doing some Elvis outfits, especially with the new Baz Luhrman movie coming out this month. I was inspired by his leather costume for the '68 Comeback Special to create a two-piece pleather outfit, using the peplum halter top and coordinating Jane Set capri pants. The white dress is inspired by the King's famous white jumpsuits; I was able to get some fun iron-on rhinestone eagle appliqués that I cut up and applied strategically in true Elvis style.

And to show this pattern at its iconic '50s best, we made some super cute fruity outfits --perfect for a car show or the boardwalk. I'm wearing a strawberry print romper with contrast straps, made without the collar and paired with the Loretta Shorts (available here on Patreon). Susie is wearing the peplum halter top with collar in adorable cherries, paired with a coordinating Stanwyck Pencil Skirt from Charm Patterns. (BTW, this is the pencil skirt we fit on her in the last Fit Clinic!)
