UPDATE 1/26/22: As some of you have noted, there was a pattern error on the Slash Neck version of the Joan Wiggle Dress. I'm so sorry about this! We had a software glitch where multiple seam allowances were added unintentionally at the very end of the process (ugh). The only pieces effected were the Slash Neck dress front and back (all sizes and cup sizes). Updated pattern files have now been posted. I'm so sorry for any inconvenience or frustration this has caused. xoxo, Gertie

Meet the Joan Wiggle Dress -– a sultry little number made in stable knit, just perfect for nights at the jazz lounge. To celebrate the launch of the Charm Artist Collective, we went all out with two neckline options: make the slash-neck version in striped ponte for an office appropriate look, or opt for the plunging sweetheart neckline  in a luxurious fabric like stretch velvet or sequins for the ultimate cocktail dress. Not sold on a wiggle dress? We’ve included a hip cutting line for a darling blouse – pair it with some cigarette pants for a good-gone-bad look!

Don’t miss the next post for a video tutorial walking you through the full construction process for both dresses. I’ll walk you through my tips and tricks for a sweetheart neckline that won’t budge, stripe placement tips, an option for a full lining, and all my finishing techniques.

Wondering about fabrics and supplies? Check out the written instructions at the bottom of this post for links and recommendations. You'll also find the tiled file (for printing at home on A4 or letter size sheets and taping together) and the A0 file (for printing at a copy shop likepdfplotting.com). Please note that we now have two size blocks, so make sure to download the correct files for the size you're making. If you have any questions about the new range, don't forget to read our blog post with all the details!

Check out our video for the #JoanWiggleDress in the next post!

Hope you love it!

xoxo,

Gertie

I would love to see an add-on for a mermaid skirt look. Similar to Bryant Gown
