UPDATE #2, 9/3: my last post had some technical HTML glitches and was not updating properly, so I have deleted it and created a new entry for this video.

UPDATE #1, 9/3: Please note that we have changed the name and the closure design of this pattern! I’ve really appreciated the opportunity to have constructive conversations via Instagram about vintage fashion and some of the trickier aspects of it. I sincerely apologize to those I hurt with any aspect of the design or name. Based on your feedback, we have decided to change the name of the project to the Hostess Lounge Set, and we are also changing the design of the closures. Additionally, we are making a donation to the Asian American Arts Alliance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring greater representation, equity, and opportunities for Asian American artists and cultural organizations through resource sharing, promotion, and community building (This will be in addition to our regular monthly donations). As always, we remain committed to making Charm Patterns a diverse and inclusive community for all.

All pattern and art files on this post have been updated to reflect this change, but I am leaving the original photos and video for your reference. Please use the hashtag #hostessloungeset when sharing your makes! Thank you all for being part of this wonderful community. XOXO

Meet the Hostess Lounge Set! I've always loved these sets, so it's been a dream to finally create a Charm version. And you all have been requesting it for years! By popular request, I am hosting this video on YouTube unlisted. (Please be sure not to share the video with anyone so that we can continue to create exclusive new content for you!)

Watch the video to see how the Hostess Lounge Set comes together. Pay special attention to the collar construction--it's a little unusual in that it's a clean finish achieved without a neckline facing. (There are also illustrations of the crucial parts in the instructions file on my separate post with the downloads.) Don't forget to download the pattern and written instructions in this post ($7 tier and above).

I hope you love this new project!

xoxo,

Gertie

P.S. If you’re a beginner, be sure to watch our Harlow Pajamas video on YouTube! Many of the steps (especially the pants) are similar to the Hostess Lounge Set.

Sew the Hostess Lounge Set

Hi everyone, please note that this project has changed from its original release; it is now called the Hostess Lounge Set and we are using buttons rather than frog closures. While this video reflects the original project, I plan to leave it up to aid you in your sewing journey. Please let me know if you have any questions about the change.

Hello. I know this pattern has been out for a while but I’m catching up. The fabric choices on the pattern when I look them up on online fabric shops they say that they are lightweight or very light weight. Did you use something a little heavier for the pants? Thanks
