Weekly Update (.043d+ - Start of History) - 3/27/20 (Patreon)

I've uploaded a new build that now goes up to the start of History. It has all the Assistant content (if you choose no secret target and previously investigated Karen, you can get a sneak peek of the Assistant's results for Friday night). It starts the Monica brown light, but there's still quite a bit to do. The next update will be Monday and that should finish all of History off and then dig into Math. It also has all the gifs converted to webm to substantially save on space and make it possible for future updates to include longer animations. This does mean there might be errors in existing content though, so just report them here or on Discord and I'll take a look.

Hey G28! I was wondering how you install the new updates, but with the images. When I download any update there are no images at the beginning of the game (content before an update). I'm sure you might've explained how to download an update so if you could point me in the direction where you explained this. Or if you haven't can you please explain :) much appreciated.

Hey, first thing you have to do is make sure you downloaded .042g ALL FILES (it's available in the post right below this one). That's going to be your base. Then, you can download the update only link that's in this post and extract (with WinRAR or 7zip or some other free extracting tool) the updated HTML file and the images folder that comes with it. Just extract that stuff into the same folder that you already have .042g set up in. The new images folder will merge with the old one (you'll know it worked if you see a folder called 050 in there now) and you can click to replace the old html file with the new one. That's how everything works if you're on a computer. If you're on a phone though, then things get a little more complicated. For that, I'll have to reference a comment someone made on a forum about it: "i would like to add that this is the solution for every HTML game which is run on a mobile (Android) device. Because the file has been extracted in a mobile device folder (which also contains the games images), it should be opened from that location (thus your filepath in the browser has to reflect this, otherwise the images are not loaded). So.....find the HTML gamefile in your phone with a file explorer, look at its properties, copy the filepath, go to your mobile browser, change the url to file:// and right beside it copy the file location of the game. Works in every (mobile) browser. Enjoy the game! Also, tonight I'm going to be replacing the current update links with a new one that's massively streamlined and will include all files up until this point (at about 1/5th the original size). So if you wait for that, you'll know for sure you've got everything downloaded too.
