Thank you 2021, now it's time for 2022! (Patreon)

Hey everyone!

We did it! We managed to complete one more year despite how shitty a lot of things were hahaha

Well since we're here might as well make our yearly retrospective then!

(Just a quick announcement that this wont be 100% a wrap up for the year, we got one final pic coming up in the next few days if everything goes to plan)

My very first thought while compiling some of the main moments for this year was "Holy shit, that was this long ago?". In my head a lot of the year had gone slowly, with me picking up steam with a couple AC animations, and then it really started on the gabumon animations not too long ago which had me on fire ever since

My big surprise was that this entire thing has been going since march though! If you asked me I'd for sure have answered that all this stuff happened like 3 months ago now, not 10!

I guess I really lost track of time this year hahaha

It does make me feel good though, I really feel that this year was super fucking good for my art. Looking at the full picture like this and comparing with the compilations from the previous years really shows a big difference with my stuff

I'm honestly absolutely loving how I've changed my colors and my rendering style to something I like much much better

Another cool thing is that I finally got over my fear of pov shots! Animating them has always been something I avoided because the direction of the animation is parallel to the view of the camera, so there's a fuckton of stuff that can go wrong if you're not careful. That's why if you back to whenever I did anything similar to these, they're always essentially just bouncing up and down and not coming towards or moving away from the camera like I can do nowadays. I think I've started to learn how to do it in my pixel art though!

2021 was also the year I went big with my pictures

Not necessarily in terms of size, but I really tried doing these large shots and filling the camera with the entire detailed body. I can't explain it too well I think, but if you go back specially to my earlier breeder stuff you'll see what I mean

Nowadays I've been making scenes more complex, sometimes with animated backgrounds, and in full video forms with sound effects and background music and stuff. All this stuff was really hard to figure out! But it does come out as a better final piece hahaha

Aside from just the art stuff, I feel I've really grown as a person too

I'm not the best guy out there for sure. I stay inside my own head a lot and block other people out, but I've got the support of wonderful people around me that has helped me get better at this stuff, if only a little bit

I've held grudges for a long time, and assumed quite a few people held them against me too. So reaching out to some of them and trying to make things out has happened a little bit this year. Again, I can't say I'm the best at this stuff, but I got people helping me improve

Overall? Best year so far. I think that's a really easy rating specially compared to last one

I'm progressing at my own pace, and I think that's the perfect one for me. I've spend too much of my life worrying about how I compare to others, so these past few years I've learned that that's a stupid thing for me to do
