Art Study Adventures (Patreon)

Hey everyone!

A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine invited me to start attending some art lessons with her (as a listener), so I decided to write a lil' update blog to talk about my experience so far.

I guess I should start by talking about the class itself. It's nothing really fancy or anything since it's part of a completely unrelated course in university, so that means everything is really basic and only really meant to introduce you to all those new concepts and mediums. But hey, I've never had any kind of formal art instruction so I can't complain!

Everyone has been really nice so far too. I guess it might be something to be expected in the human sciences, but in the 8 years I was at the university for Computer Science I've learned not expect people just passing by and complimenting my work, or giving me a short welcome greeting when I first started attending. I kinda liked that!

So far I got to play with several art facets I had never touched before, as you can see from the finished exercises I attached to this post so far we got to use watercolors, charcoals, colored pencils and even techniques such as pointillism! We also got to do some drawing of those wooden figurines and hands, learned the basics of character and environment design and some other techniques. It's all been pretty interesting so far

We've been having 4h of classes once a week though, which can be kinda tiring. Oh, and are about to start some digital painting lessons so I'm super stoked for that! Another real nice thing is that since I'm only participating as a listener I really don't have to worry about grades, or having to do their course projects, so it's all really relaxing and it doesn't affect my regular painting work

Ok, this might be going a bit too long so I'll end this update blog for now. Do let me know if you'd like to see some of my other assignments in the future though! I honestly have no idea of what they might be, but I'm sure it's gonna be super fun to work on them
