he mentioned at the beginning that switching to manga was one of the best things hes done. Im glad cause at the beginning he was so skeptical just like i was when i started. Been a great journey watching these videos and cant wait till we can read weekly together and theory craft since you wont be able to be spoiled anymore :D

I've seen the big party/celebration idea before. And I don't think it's a bad one. But the two key points in my opinion are that 1) he told this to Shanks before he even met Ace and Sabo, so he's had this dream since he was around Shanks at least. 2) Ace on his deathbed said, "my only regret is that I won't live long enough to to see you achieve your dream." To me, for Ace to say my only regret is to miss the crazy ass party you're gonna throw after becoming pirate King seems too trivial to say while dying in your brother's arms. And Ace told Luffy that they wanted to live with NO REGRETS! Now he regrets not getting to go to a party (I know I'm oversimplifying the party idea, but that's what it is, a party). Idk what his dream is, so I can't really say anything tho.

idk i think it still fits, its not so much that ace wanted to simply join the party, he wanted to see it happen bc its luffys dream. its luffy so the dream is gonna be simple like that

I discard the theory of the big party; the strawhats say's it's an impossible dream but making a big party isn't something impossible. Maybe his dream is to end the pirate era, how? When he finds the One Piece pirates will lose interest in looking for the treasure and stop killing each other. Thats why this dream can be only obtained when he becomes the pirate king.
