This is better than Demon Slayer's best episode sorry not sorry. The scene transitions, directing was another level. Yaiba has great action animation but the directing is nothing special. The scene transition with Luffy approaching Kinemon and then seeing them bloodied up was amazing. I prefer amazing directing over animation. Ishitani I think is her name - please direct more OP episodes.

Its fine if you prefer sakuga animation for action scenes but as someone who watches live action movies and tv series directing is far more important and impressive. Demon Slayer outside of the fights is like other anime with mouths flapping and static images for dialogue. Whereas this OP episode the directing for yamato's conversation with ace was spectacular even with no fights the character animation, lighting, framing was spot on.

The title for chapter 1000 was called “Straw Hat Luffy” and it makes a sentence with the previous chapter 999 title “The Sake I Brew For You”. So if you put the chapter names together it makes the sentence “The Sake I Brew For You Straw Hat Luffy”. So who’s brewing sake for Luffy? Also congrats on the newborn child

Nah you right. The animations of DS's best episodes are insane, but this episode had that + way better storyboarding, voice acting and directing. Anime is more than just how the visuals look.

I give some massive complements to this episode, for the obvious animation, but also the directing and art direction, it was amazing. I think both DS and this episode are great in their respective areas, so just gonna appreciate what we get.

The episode director was " Megumi Ishitani", it's a LEGEND director of animation in japan, and the scene of luffy's walk between kaido and BM was animated by " Dorian Coulon" a famous french animator! If these two legend has to be in every episode, the anime will be a blast of beauty... but i guess it's impossible :'( GREAT REACTION KHAN! <3 Hope your new son is in shape ! :D Much love from France <3
