Just to update everybody not crazy (but *good* crazy) enough to be shelling out $50/mo to get chapters as they finish, here's the story on This Is Our Story and upcoming projects. I've just finished the final two chapters of volume I, so now I just have to cobble it all together and get it edited. That'll probably be a week or so, then it's off to Amazon for folks who'd like to buy it, as well as becoming available to the $20 patrons here. (I always wanna say "free" to those folks, but you can't really say "free if you pay $20". You get me, though.)

I am pretty pleased with this piece. For those who didn't read the initial chapter I released a while back, or just forgot, it centers around a high school yearbook editor whose school buys new software for their program called This Is Our Story. The editor's version, unbeknownst at first to the protagonist, allows him to literally edit the stories of his classmates and the faculty.

There's definitely an element of the old MasterPC in this (after all, it's a computer program that edits reality), but it's far less precise and user-friendly, lacking even a basic Undo feature. Plus, the protagonist isn't one of those instantly corrupted sociopaths whose first instinct is to just enslave every girl he's ever had a boner for. (An impulse I can appreciate, though I don't think it makes for good narrative.) I tried to weave in some of my personal favorite tropes -- a submissive streak, one-sided romances, teacher-student shenanigans, a "gullibility" effect... I had a lot of fun with it, so hopefully those of you who check it out do too.

Anyway, while I could easily keep going with volume II, I do still have The Secret of Harmony Reed to pick up (and I believe finish off with volume III). Once that's done (and while I'm doing it), I have some short stories I want to get out, and hopefully some commissions as well. (I'd love to make a comment about thank goodness for the Trump economy, but I don't want to pin down whether or not I mean it sincerely or sarcastically and either way lose half my readership. Ah, to be an American in 2018.)

Once that's done, my hope is to finally finally get around to revising good old Tolerance and The Tolerant with some rewrites and edits and put that out there for the world. I know it's one a lot of people missed and liked (and hated, at parts), so with luck we'll get it done come July or August so the world can bask in it anew.

Anyway, more to come!

Thanks for the insight on the story. As someone whose tier is on the lower end, I always assumed TIOS was a story created by/for your pledges. This Is OUR Story, as in a story for those who pledge higher amounts on Patreon. I had no idea it was something completely separate. Reality manips are some of my favorite stories, so I'll definitely be checking out once the entire volume's released!

Ha! Looks like I should've said something about it sooner. Hopefully I didn't give too many folks the impression I was neener-neenering my material just out of their reach. :) I actually cribbed the name from a program at my own high school way back when, and thought it was a perfect fit for a story about a guy who is re-writing everyone's stories. Back to editing!
