Material Editor / Public Source Code (Patreon)
Content
Hey all!
Here's the material editor I was talking about in my last post 😋 . Its purpose is primarily to make the import of texture assets as easy as possible, as well as allow you to edit PBR properties on the fly.
Textures can be added (or replaced) via drag-and-drop and ambient occlusion can be automatically generated. It also supports specular PBR workflow textures (in which case the textures are automatically converted to the metallic workflow). Subsurface scattering is currently only supported when rendering with Cycles and I still have to add a few more options for that.
Both the Material browser and editor will be available with the next update (preview version only for now)!
Pragma Source Code
I've been talking about it for a while, but better late than never: The Source Code for Pragma is now finally publicly available: https://github.com/Silverlan/pragma
You can't actually build it out of the box at the moment, I'll still have to make a few changes and write some instructions for that, but at least it's here now.
I'm also currently working on adding OpenGL support (as an alternative to Vulkan), which should enable anyone with older hardware (as well as Intel GPUs) to run Pragma. This is currently about 30% complete, but it's more of a side-priority, so I don't have an eta on that yet.
New rewards
I've also added some new Discord channels for Patron+ (and above) Tiers where I'll be posting short clips or screenshots of things I'm working on from time to time, as well as a rough roadmap for the near future. The clips will only be very short (few seconds) previews, I'll still be posting my normal videos of new features like before of course.
I'm still setting it up, but it should be ready in a few days!
