My friend posed a challenge to me to explore the body horror side of the concept of transformation with an unusual organism to tf into. They suggested a clam, so I went with a razor clam. There is also a small story that goes with this that is quite on the body horror side as well.

--------------------

A group of friends were walking along the beach, gossiping among themselves. Samantha trailed behind with another friend, showing off a necklace she had found lying on the shore. The stone had a menacing look about it, strange markings etched into the underside. Her friend remarked how incredible it was and that it might be worth a fortune. Perhaps it was the spoils of a lost ship washed up to shore. One of the friends further ahead laughed snidely that it was probably some costume jewelry someone had left behind. Samantha sighed and mumbled something to herself about the necklace out of earshot of the group. The pendant seemed to start glowing in response to what she said, and as they walked, she began to feel sick to her stomach.

All of a sudden Samantha started screaming, her movements jerky and spasmodic, clutching her insides. Her friends tried to grab her, but she seemed oblivious to everything around her and focused on squeezing her stomach inwards in a sickening way. Her friends panicked. One of them went for a phone, but as Samantha started gagging and coughing, they froze in horror. He tongue started stretching out of her mouth obscenely, a huge wormy mass. Her neck undulated slowly like a snake swallowing in reverse, feeding the mass out of her mouth. As her tongue continued to disgorge from her mouth, slithering its way out, her face appeared to fold outwards. Her face sank down into her torso, her own neck unfolding out of her mouth as more of the grotesque appendage swelled. Her sweat had a sticky, whitish hue which developed across her face. Her chin developed rolls of flesh, fusing to her torso.

Her insides were visibly squirming under the skin. Hundreds of wiggling feelers moved underneath like an alien developing inside her viscera. Her body all the while was shrinking to the point that her swimwear dropped off of her, and she fell over onto her back as the nerves connecting her limbs stopped sending signals. Her existence was being rewritten down to her DNA.

Her friends could only look down on her in silent horror as her body folded in on itself, her legs bent up unnaturally under her arms. Her body squeezed itself into a vice. Her joints popped out of their sockets as the changes forced them to hyper-extend. She arched her back and twitched while her skin began secreting calcium carbonate from its pores. As it hardened into a shell with a wet sheen, her movements stiffened. Her belly button became bulbous and hardened into a forming pearl. Her nethers were pushed out, beginning to form two tubes for air intake and expunging waste, as gills formed along the insides of her guts.

She flailed and convulsed, trying to spread her arms from the sides of her folded legs like a reflex, only to tear the skin with gooey strands. This only made it easier for forming shell to compress inwards squishing her organs further as they took on a whitish hue. It’s as if she wasn’t trying to save her arms but rather the motion was caused by nerve impulses which told her brain to become a clam. All the while she continued to scream, but now it seemed mechanical, automatic, thoughtless, as the mass of her former tongue took her face with it. Her tongue, no longer remotely capable of shaping words, rolled and stretched taught. To her friends, it looked as if the forming "foot" was going through the muscle memory of speech her tongue once had. Or it was trying to escape from its body’s sickening changes, reflecting some unconscious impulse to live. Her skull wetly crunched inwards, squeezing her brain into the squirming muscle. Her eyes rolled back, as the insides of her head began pulsing and flexing, changing into muscle tissue for the bulbous "foot". As the bones of her spine softened, her spinal column wreathed and form a wire of nerves running through the soft flesh, and the clam began to move like a clam.

The scream was now muffled gurgling at this point, escaping air from the no longer needed lungs. Her friends simply stared in silence, as the soon to be razor clam continued to shrink before their eyes, its own eyes sealing, along with most of its other senses except for the basic ones needed to sustain it. They only stood there agape as the clam searched for a way to dig itself into the ground, and the necklace shriveled out of existence.

This is so good!! Mollusks are really wonderful TF prompts, especially the ones that don't have proper brains.

havent seen something like this. and I like it :3

I love your writing. All TF has a huge element of body horror - so to imagine a donkey or horse transformation with this kind of visceral gut punch imagery would be a thing indeed. Also noted the subtle change of pronouns from 'her' to 'it'. Delightfully scary.

I love this! It's rare to see TF explored on more unique organisms! I'm all for more of this from time to time
