The last couple days were spent with my dad, sister, and bestie in Smithville, TX in this incredible Airbnb my friend owns. It was absolutely glorious and such a treat to stay there with my dad, since we grew up very lower middle-class and didn’t get to stay in places like this.

We went to the area to check out the Round Top Antique Fair and had such a blast there yesterday. I have never seen anything like this, and if you’re a lover of antiques and/or vintage, this is so worth going to! (I will say, it’s not mandatory at all to buy tickets, and truth be told, I wish I’d saved the money I spent on them because the vendors outside of those paid areas were really cool and had much better prices. We didn’t even make it to half of the places we could have come!) More on this later!

I absolutely loved this upstairs little nook area, which was perfect for meditation, journaling, hanging out, reading, etc. Tarot readings would have been great in here!

This adorable camper our back was just too freaking cute! 🤩

And this living room… my gosh. (Say hello to my dad!)

Never would have thought of this - a preacher’s podium turned booze station. 😆

And we were left a card with a scavenger hunt inside! We thought the rose was part of it, but turns out it was actually a water bottle in the pink stove …

The entire house is so well though out, and the little details really were such a joy.

Smithville itself was very small and had a cozy feel. We ate a restaurant named Honey’s for dinner and they had Ghostbusters playing on a projector outside on their patio. 🥹

We walked around that part of town after dinner and even though everything was closed, it was really cute!

Part of the movie Hope Floats was filmed here, and this ice cream shop won’t let you forget it. 🩷 (Hello bestie!)

This was the house in the movie:

I’m a bit beyond my years in that I really enjoy seeing the houses and such around a town, so this after dinner walk was just great!

And I really dug the spooky vibes! 🤩

All in all, I’d say this Airbnb is worth a 2-3 day stay for anyone wanting to enjoy their lodging. Smithville didn’t have a ton to offer in the way of restaurants and such, but there’s a few good places and our last night there, we just got food from the grocery store and ate in the backyard under the string lights at the fire pit. It was just wonderful to hang back there in the warm weather and talk without having to hurry and get out of a restaurant. ☺️

The house has a washer and dryer, so I was able to do some laundry (since I’m staying in the area longer than everyone else), and I loved that there was a yoga area upstairs. We slept great aside from the train coming through, but the ear plugs left for us helped a ton. ☺️ Beds were comfy and it felt like everything we needed was there!

10/10 would recommend!

Also… this area of Texas is GORGEOUS! It’s in hill country, which I’ve never really seen. (I feel like a bad Texan just saying that… but hey! It’s a big state!!) The greenery and trees made this all even better!
