My god. Last week was wild.

I went to Amarillo for a few days since my brother and his husband were there (by the way, they got married! Yay!) and had planned to fly to LA on Christmas Eve to be with JD‘s family for Christmas day. Low and behold, my brothers husband got Covid and because I stayed with them one night, we decided it was best for me to stay in Amarillo for a few extra days. I tested negative 5 days in a row and came home yesterday.

In all honesty, this is really the universe working with me because I wanted to spend Christmas with my family. I’m not one to get worked up over holidays, and the reason I love Christmas so much is because everyone actually takes the time to slow down. While I’ve been conditioned to be sad if my partner is not with me on certain occasions, deep down it doesn’t bother me because I know that I get tons of quality time with JD and I don’t need Christmas to make that time any more special. He doesn’t do well with sitting and talking, and that’s basically all I did for several days while I caught up with friends and family, so I definitely took advantage of that time I had by myself. Everyone was offering me places to stay, letting me drive their cars or give me rides, and being very inviting even though they knew I had been exposed to Covid. I know that can be reckless in some people’s opinions, the majority of people I was with were vaccinated and/or had Covid already. I’m vaxxed + boosted and missing my loved ones, so I sure am not going to tell them what their boundaries should be. I feel a lot more grounded now after having time with people who knew me so well for so long.

Speaking of, this photo was shot by my pal, Alan Stephens, and my friend, Kim Wood, did my makeup and hair. I’ve spoken about both of them before, and I really don’t know what my life would look like without the two of them. Alan was the first photographer I ever shot with and can was the one who talked me into applying at MAC about 13-14 years ago. Kim also connected me with people in other places who helped me branch out in my modeling career early on. We all had a whole day of creativity and I’m so grateful for it. ❤️ The older I get, the more I cherish them.

I hope you all got something you needed the last few days whether that be rest, vacation, time with loved ones, or yummy food!

Love you all, and more pics + chats coming soon! 🤗
