This is the question I have been asking myself for a while now. I want to open this up for discussion because you all are my biggest supporters.

In the last few months, I have seen quite a decline in print sales from my shop on Big Cartel. ( www.annaleebelle.bigcartel.com) Much of this is due to Facebook's change in their algorithm, which dramatically decreases the reach on a post with a link attached. I can see where my traffic is coming from on the website, and rarely anymore is it Facebook. I've also tried using Facebook's shop, which has given me a whole 2 sales in almost 6 months. Sad, sad thing. I sometimes sell through Spreesy on Instagram, which is decent, but not quite the results I'd like to see.

Anywho, I'm curious to know your thoughts on this. I realize I haven't been changing out my inventory as much and I wonder if that is part of the reason. Do you think I need to keep it more updated or are people just not as big on physical prints anymore?

In all honesty, I am debating shutting down my shop altogether. It's quite a hassle to keep up with and I would love to focus more energy into doing more productive things which have better payoff, like Patreon! But I definitely would like your input. If I decided to close it down, I'll do a big sale and let you all know about first in case you want to stock up on stuffs. ;)

First I just ordered a few prints because A: you are amazing B: to show the system works Here is my two cents. I think true highest quality prints are in demand People like to touch things I am convinced the reason music is seeing a return to vinyl is people want to touch feel look and listen.. I would suggest a feature of the month print or series of prints with a discount. It makes it easy to keep sharing and can generate concentrated sales of those prints. I would imagine if you extend the shipping time of the sale prints you could gather the monthly quantity and printing in quantity would offer you some discount and the discount you offer consumers would keep your margins the same. As for the reaching people, I do think you are on to something when you mentioned algorithm used these days and that is restricting visibility. Some of my artist friends have had luck with sharing their links on friends wall and pages vs. relying on their own circle of contacts. A club promoter back east put his events on people walls and has see a much greater response .. He keeps it simple and says " Here are the details of the show we were talking about" Good luck with it

Thank you for purchasing a print! It will be shipped as soon as I get back home. I like the ideas you have for feature prints. I've been looking into that a bit with the 5x7 metallic prints. Lots of things to consider!
