This is one of two polls I am holding after a conversation in Discord.  They said that I should have polls regarding what they were talking about.

One thing that I was told is that I should have less in-depth stories, characters, and lore, and instead, just have a parade of long Bad Ends in my interactive novels.   Basically, they say that story is not really important, just the transformation/corruption scenes are.

I don't quite follow, but the question is, should I stop making elaborate stories with character development, world-building, and lore, and instead, just focus on very short novels with little story and some bad ends?

yeah, I'm all in for slow corruption. Especially if there are many transformation changes to the character. But without a good story this is nothing to me. Sure, I'd like to read a short story, maybe starting from the Slugs and Bugs universe one day. You could do some non-canon creative shorts for some bad ends.

The problem being that what you have works BECAUSE of the love and lore put into it. I think there needs to be a balance found. I think that to cut the story and find longer bad ends with less story is just erotica and that is fine but is not what makes the comics stand out. On the other hand, I think there can be a nudge towards more drawn out or robust bad ends. What I mean here is that instead of having just two or three stills of an ending, you could push it to say five or six, give a little more scene to it, kind of explore a bit more of what the subtext of the scene is saying. But I do not think it should disregard the story in itself

Right now in Desideratum, most Bad Ends are 10 scenes. A handful are less and a few of them are more than 10. With over 100 Bad Ends, that means right now, if you add it all up, there's over 1000 scenes of Bad Ends, written and rendered. That's why I was confused in Discord. I was thinking, "If I do 30 scenes or something for every Bad End in D:BB, it will take me 4 years to make this whole thing" lol Anyway, this title (D:BB) is the biggest and was always meant to have the most BE's. Other interactive novels will have less Bad Ends than this, which also means I can spend more time. In fact, while I expect OSAS and Giggle Night to have vastly fewer BE's than D:BB, I plan on those stories working well as hybridizations between how CoC worked (with different scenes branching out based on desicions/interactions) and mixed with the maps and fights of D:BB. That means, more slow corruptions as opposed to 1000+ scenes of Bad Ends (which worked perfectly to me, for how this tale is made).
