In order to fully realize the game with everything I intend to have in it, that is, music, voice acting, special effects, and balance, it would take my Patreon getting to $2500 per month. I can reallocate some of my finances to continue making baby steps. I have talked about the costs enough that I think the average investor here has a good idea of how much all these things cost, and I won’t get back into all that, rather, I want those of you that are Faction: Crystals of Control SPECIFIC patrons to have a high-detailed understanding of how I think it will proceed.

I have already purchased ALL Daz models I will conceivably need for the entire game. I used my life savings, and I should be ok there. This means that I can make the characters. After brainstorming last night and reading on different forums, and assuming Blank will continue to program pro bono, we can make a version consisting of a tutorial and two fully playable factions with four unlockable characters. This is the general premise. In greater detail:

Intro scene showing Dagan and Trixie in the Great Vault under Ravenhurst Manor. He is gloating over all the amazing artifacts and when he floats over to the crystals of control, Trixe is suddenly hit by something clownish. Dagan rushes over to her, but she just starts laughing wildly and looks up at him, now as a giggle girl. He looks over his should to see the Giggler standing there chuckling. Suddenly he is knocked sideways by a heavy blow and another villain shows up. Then you see that all the powers of the Anaxverse have arrived to take the powerful treasures of the vault. And a fight ensues, as it fades to black.

“Choose your Faction” appears on the screen, and you choose whichever faction, and then, whichever character you have unlocked on that faction. Then, the story fades back in with you looking up in a now empty vault and catching Dagan slipping away with a glowing ball of white light. Then, it goes to the tutorial.

Tutorial - The story will actually be shown in the next version. It will have you learn that your faction has been decimated at the war that erupted at Ravenhurst Manor over the crystals and that you need to rebuild not only your own power, but that you must stop all the other dark factions as well, acquiring their own crystals. You manage to follow Dagan Erebus to his hide out (picture a map with three levels along a line).

==== O === O === O

As Dagan’s voice actor in my novels, I can play his voice so at least I don’t have to pay for that because I want the entire tutorial voice acted. Something like, “Oh great, you mook! You managed to follow me! Well, I might as well tell ya how this all works. Besides- you might actually be just what I need!” So, then I explain how the maps work. Then you select to fight on the first level.

This level will be a simple fight against a couple of minions. As Dagan, I explain how the colored gems and matches work. After beating the easy foes, you return to the map and choose the next level. Here, you face off against Amelia herself (from my Phantom: Revenge novel). As Dagan, I explain that halfway on every zone, you will encounter a miniboss. This boss will be much tougher than the usual minions, but a little less difficult to beat than the faction leaders. On this level, the player’s abilities are unlocked, and you are given instructions on what you need to do in order to use them.

After defeating Amelia, you move to the final level of the tutorial zone, in which, Dagan faces off against you. In the fight, he explains that not only can you use your powers, but you can even convert enemies to your own faction if you use them a certain way. You follow his advice (it won’t let you continue until you manage to pull off whatever your conversion method is), and then you would convert him, but being Dagan, he was prepared for this and slips away (don’t worry; I will make him and Amelia unlockable eventually).

After that he says that you got the lightsphere, but that the 8 crystals of control are out there, each taken by a different foe. He tells you that if you manage to get them, or better yet, get them AND convert your foes, you could not only rebuild your lost faction, but rule the entire world! And so, you start the real game.

2 Fully Playable Factions – I held a poll long ago asking which factions should be playable first with succubi and cereborgs easily trumping everything else. So, I suppose those would be the first two full factions. So in the first update, you would only be able to attack the zone of the other faction. For this business report, I will use the Lilin Demons. So, you select them, choose to play as either the incubus version of Riley (male) or as Dionyza (female), and from there, you go to the world map which allows you to choose which faction to assault. In this case, only California will be clickable, and then you see a map showing CereTech Laboratories. This map will work where you first fight at the front of the lab, then inside on the first floor, then you go down the elevator and so forth. I will attach a quick mockup so you can get an idea. Then, halfway through you face off against CereChieko, and you CAN unlock her as a succubus, then fight all the way down to Cerebrum and you CAN unlock him as some sort of techno-incubus.

Now, you have completed the update as the Lilin demons! If you wanted you could play again and if you selected Lilin Demons, you would now be able to choose to play as Dion, Riley OR Lilin Chieko or Lilin Cerebrum. Of course, you could select to play as cereborgs (this time it will pop up a message asking if you want to skip the tutorial), and then you would only be able o choose Las Vegas from the world map. This would take you to the Vegas strip where you follow the map defeating lilin demons as you fight through casinos and strip clubs. You could convert Riley and Dion into cereborgs, and then play a third time, now as a cereborg Dionyza for example and go back to fight yourself in Vegas on the next play through.

The conversion scenes would be basically what was in this demo, at least for now, without any music or voice acting. That would conclude the v .01 of the real Factions game, if that makes sense. THEN with that being out there in the world, hopefully, it would be enough to really get the investors going that want to support it. So, hopefully, this gives insight on what I was wanting to do next. As my patreon grew, I could go back and add the extras I wanted like conversion music and voice acting, but this is all predicated on the idea that Blank will work for free for now. I’ll talk to him about it when he is back from vacation.

So, I hope that helps the current F:CoC patrons understand what I want to invest their money into and what I want to release next. Of course, as I always have, I will give weekly progress reports and post images to show progress as it is made.
