I have been so busy the last couple of weeks!  We had the releases and then last Thursday, instead of a regular progress report, I ran another developer question and answer session.  Now that things are finally out there, publicized, and set, I will be doing my usual weekly investor progress reports.

Desideratum: Blood Bonds- (As I did with my other stories, for time's sake, I will be abbreviating this henceforth as D:BB.)  I have begun working on this project and it is going to be a doozy!  But, a very fun and enjoyable doozy!  I will be posting pictures of my progress as well.  As always, I try to be transparent, and spend time to ensure you are all aware of my progress.  In this current part of development, there will not be much to actually play as I am making all the models that will be used, like I did in C:I, so, I am guessing that around Xmas will be the first release.  I am hoping to have Chapter 1 redone with Chapter 2 also complete and the first monster fights, which leads into Chap 3.

Looking at the votes, I think this will be the way to go.  If one does NOT want to spoil the correct order of monster fights for themselves, then they can simply not look at it (I will also make a spoiler warning screen every release until the last release to help people as well).  So, later today I will post you a picture showing the first batch of monsters I made the past three days!  I have their battle sprites rendered and ready to go, so now I will turn to the next group.  I'll continue this until the bulk of models are done because, IF I am able, I can always get more updates done if I am not having to stop to make new models between every update, if that makes sense.  So, maybe I can even release two chapters in one release again, like I plan to do at Xmas.

F:CoC - So, you may or may not have noticed that I did not hit my patreon goal.  This is very unfortunate.  I am sort of stuck here, and please comment and leave me advice if you are interested in seeing Factions completed.  As you all know, if I do not hit my goal, I cannot afford to make this game.  AT best, I might be able to continue but, it will be insanely slow.  I might be able to budget (if I maybe do not go out to do anything every month like eat out or watch a movie, and maybe eat a lot of peanut butter and bread for my meals), I might, get $200 a month or so.  My life will suffer, but such is the life of an artist anyway, I suppose, however, that $200 will likely only buy the rights to one or two songs, or I might be able to talk Blank into taking it to do something, but it's not a lot of money.

To again put it into perspective the demo everyone played cost me about $4,000 of my money, and Blank programmed for free, so if my Patreon stays where it is, it might take 2 to 3 years for the next update?  I guess.  I honestly don't know.  If Blank will keep programming for free, it might help, but, it will still be incredibly slow going.  People vote with their wallets, I am told, and maybe they did not like Factions that much.  I don't know what else I can do, so if you have any advice or comments, as I said, feel free to let me know.  If I can't hit the monthly goal, I just do not know how any real progress can be made.

General News - Not much to report here.  I spent MANY hours promoting Factions.  Uploaded it to itch.io, many forums, tweeted, YouTubed, did live Q&A's, I think I did just about everything one man can do.  Added together I have no idea how many hours I poured into advertising it.  Anyway, I am VERY excited about D:BB!  Just sketching out the story and monsters- which will lead to very sexy transformation bad ends- makes me thrilled to get to finally get this tale out to the world.  It's going to be lots of fun!

As always, questions, comments, and feedback are welcomed!

Sorry to hear you did not hit the Factions goal. I found your patreon through that demo, and signed up to support that awesome proof of concept. So, in terms of feedback... I am *very* interested in seeing progress there, heh. Do you know how many new patrons signed up after you put out that demo? I am sure I am the minority here, but I am not familiar with your larger corpus of work... I just saw a very cool match 3 demo where I could transform some ladies in (certainly) unique ways. That was great! I know you had some ambitious plans for Factions, but I would plead you consider just scaling them back a bit rather than canceling the project. Obviously you need to do what is financially right for you and yours :) but I think adding those additional factions would help broaden the reach of the game too (for example, I almost skipped it entirely when I saw that spider lady... but I am obviously glad I did not!). Similarly, and this is clearly just one opinion, you can consider saving all those male renders for the very end. You included a bunch of phallic objects in the demo, and if I had to choose between having male and female versions of each faction, or not having the game at all - it is an easy choice for me :) Finally, have you considered a Factions specific tier? In all honesty, I am not sure I am too interested in some of your other works (absolutely no offense intended!) but I would be happy to chip in a bit more if it meant you could focus on that game. Your patreon is different from others I have backed in the past: rather than targeting a specific project, you have crafted this deep world based on a collection of your IP, and backers support that world instead. To risk stating the obvious, while great for gathering support for a particular niche, it does also make it difficult to snag the (larger) market of folks only interested in one particular aspect (in this case, the game). Smaller, incremental releases (e.g., faction votes, art previews and transformation screenshots in advance) for a Factions-specific tier, followed by broader releases for everyone else once a version is "complete" might help. I have other thoughts/suggestions but they all really boil down to releasing incremental updates that slowly add all of the features you have in your grand vision (e.g., those TF slideshows were fine! animation and/or more images would never be turned away, but you should not wait for them to release the next faction; same for music - you definitely should not feel like you need to buy unique tracks for every faction before the very end, I promise no one is backing because of your midi selections, hahaha). It is better to walk the long road and get there, than to never travel at all! =)

Thanks for the feedback! So, I do not have numbers that let me know who patrons me for what. I could maybe run a poll and ask folks to vote, but since I released that demo, my patreon has gone up less than or around $200. SO, assuming 100% of that comes from F:CoC folks solely, it's something, but not anywhere close to what I would need. The idea is and has always been to do updates to Factions. However, I can only do them as I can pay for them to be done. In other words, I have the passion and time, but not the current investors to move forward too much. Now, it has only been maybe two weeks that it's been on the market, and I am actually still rendering characters for it (though the rest of this month I am needing to focus solely on Desideratum), and I wanted to let people like you know where I stand this month so you could unpatron me if you felt the need to. I like being 100% open and honest on progress, and Blank is currently on a holiday. When he gets back I am going to talk with him and see if there will be a way for us to continue progressing on it. I will make a post specifically aimed towards those of you that are supporting me just for F:CoC and not my novels to explain in greater detail a bit later today. I take patronage feedback more seriously than any other- because you obviously believe in what I am doing- and I want to ensure I explain maybe better than the short blurb in that progress report, so please check back later today! Thank you!
