God of What?
Chapter 19

Bell Cranel
She didn’t like how Yor was pushing the kids, both younger and older, to their limits. It felt cruel!
… But at the same time, she couldn’t deny his words because he never said anything that was strictly wrong. It was better to bleed and sweat here rather than die down there.
Wouldn’t she do that if it meant her future familia members would come back home safely?
…
But that had nothing to do with what was happening right now!
“I see, I see,” Yor hummed as he took notes about what she ate.
“This is too much, Yor,” she grumbled between bites.
“There is no such thing as too much preparation,” he countered after flipping a page on his palm-sized notebook. “I have already learned a lot about you like this.”
She pouted. “You’ve been watching me like I’m some sort of an object.”
“I would not observe an object for this long.”
Was she supposed to be upset at him for saying that or happy?
Ugh.
“Can’t you at least act normal while you’re doing that, then?” she asked him with a frown as she put her fork down.
He paused before nodding. “I suppose that I should be taking care to make the subject feel at ease while the observation is going on. It wouldn’t do to skew the data by making the subject feel uncomfortable.”
… She was going to punch him the next time they trained, and her fist will be landing square on his face. He wasn’t even referring to her by her name! Rude!
She’ll just have to get back at him somehow.
---
After breakfast
She ran with Yor’s little siblings in the familia. He couldn’t order her around, so he can’t order them around like a tyrant!
“Three more laps.”
She ran three more laps.
---
Lunch
He acted normal, but when she turned around, she could hear intense scribbling behind her.
Very intense scribbling.
---
Dinner
She wasn’t sure what was real anymore. Yor had been acting weird throughout the day, but this was the first time she found herself looking at him surrounded by papers and doing math.
Not just math but math.
She saw complex charts, mathematical equations, and other forms of numbers in tiny boxes and -.
Her head began spinning when she saw them all. They just all began to blend in together, and her vision spun and continued to spin until she looked away, only to begin again when she looked at them again.
Bell took that as a challenge. Numbers couldn’t defeat her!
Blarghhhh…
Yor took note of her barf as well.
---
“Are you done torturing me yet?” Bell asked Yor at the end of the day. She glared at him with all her being after he put her through an awkward and grueling day. She wanted to smack hi-.
When did she become so violent? Was this what happened to people surrounded by irritating people like Yor?
Yor just smiled back as did his god. Hestia looked between them three in confusion.
“Did something happen?” Hestia asked with innocent curiosity, but Bell noted her slightly crinkled one-piece and ruffled hair.
Bell knew that her goddess was doing hanky-panky with Marris behind closed doors and away from the children.
“Bell confided to me something very disturbing,” Yor replied.
Hestia suddenly clenched up.
“She did not know her own dieting and training schedule.”
Hestia relaxed. “Oh, really? Is that important?”
Both Marris and Yor turned to Hestia on a dime in near perfect unison.
“Yes,” they replied before Marris continued. “I am the god of transformation, and this includes the transformation of the body in any and all direction. In adventurer’s case, I can see how they grow stronger not only from accessing excelia but also from how they eat and train.”
Bell blinked.
They actually mattered? Yor wasn’t just messing with her?
“They do?” Hestia asked. “How does that work?”
“Divine blessing gives a lot of unexplained strength, stamina, speed, and more,” Marris began, and Bell had an inclining that this was going to become a lecture. “This is less so when the adventurer’s level is low like Level 1 and 2 but extremely high in higher levels like those past level 5. Technically speaking, Level 1 adventurers are all completely within human limits but at the higher end of it. This is why even a newly falna blessed adventurer will be stronger than any regular soldiers who have trained since childhood and are at the peak of their life.
“But this doesn’t mean that normal aspects of reality do not have their sway over you. In fact, adventurers are one of the hungriest people in Orario. Why? It’s because they have spent their base stamina in the dungeons. Even if you wield divinely blessed strength, magic, speed, and endurance, you are, at the end of the day, doing so with your base stamina. So they come out of the dungeon and party but most importantly eat like a pig because their body demands it.”
Yor took over from here. “And Bell does not.”
“Sorry?”
“You don’t eat at all,” Yor replied. “This is the data I have gathered today with unverified trend that I have seen before, including what your goddess saw of your eating habits.”
“Oh yeah, is that why you asked me all of those questions, Yor?” Hestia asked innocently.
“And the conclusion from this short study was that you, Bell Cranel, do not eat enough. In fact, I am very concerned-.”
It became a lecture, and continued well into the night.
The conclusion?
She needed to eat more. A lot more. Otherwise, her lack of sufficient diet may hamper her growth via damaging her base status.
So.
They fed her.
---
The next morning, she stared at her plate, and gulped at the amount of food that was about the same size as her head.
“D-Do I really have to eat all of this…?”
“Yes,” Yor deadpanned. “We will now commence our own mukbang.”
“Huh?”
“Ignore that and start eating.”

Alan Marris
I watched as our cute little Bell gulped while grabbing the first meat on stick and began biting into it. Grease smeared on her face as she tore a chunk out of the rolled up meat and chewed with her cheeks full. She was trying so hard to keep her usual tableside manners, but there was only so much manners that one could keep when their mouth was filled to the brim with food.
She swallowed her first load and went back in for her second load. Even more grease smeared themselves across her cheeks as she dove face first into the meat and, in a Luffy-worthy manner, and stretched that meat really far!
‘Yes~, it’s all according to plan,’ I laughed mentally.
Yor and Victor both gave me their mental version of disgusted objections.
