Chapter 22
-VB-
Chrysalismon looked through the files he had initially found when he entered it.
The machine, FAS-F5P5 Khopesh, was a machine built to kill humans. Digimon didn’t go out of their way to kill humans, but it was still weird being in a machine designed to do just that. So it was also odd that he found tens of gigabytes of files for how humans relaxed in the machine.
Well, just one way that humans relaxed.
Digimons didn’t need to relax like humans did. Or at least he didn’t.
He thought he found a way to help Vanessa relax and wanted to show it to her, but instead, he found himself unexpectedly changing the Khopesh with its presence. Maybe it was his data leaking out because he relaxed a little inside an actual computer server instead of the physical world that humans like his partner inhabited.
This change turned out to be a boon, because the long manipulators could be used to enact one of the relaxation methods he found inside the Khopesh’s files!
The problem was that he didn’t have instructions on how to use these new manipulators. He may have unexpectedly changed it by releasing his data while relaxing, but he hadn’t directed the change. He found himself with essentially a software program whose instructions did not exist but one he needed to figure out if he wanted to help his partner.
So he got to figuring it out.
---
Day 1
Chrysalismon changed the rotational speed of long.manipulator.rs1 from 0.1 to 0.5.
The moment he moved it, the limb swung far faster than he anticipated and smashed into the ground, cratering where it struck.
He made sure to dial the rotational speed back down to 0.1 and locked it and all other long.manipulator.pos to 0.1. If he did that to Vanessa, then he would never live it down. That wasn’t play and relaxation at all.
He also doubted that his partner liked playing rough.
---
Day 2
Chrysalismon stared at the new program for the long manipulators that hadn’t been there when he first entered the Khopesh’s servers. This one … was blank but it was tied to a potential function at the ends of the manipulator for finer manipulation. But there wasn’t a program at all! He needed to write it out from scratch.
And that meant a lot more testing after he got the long manipulator’s controls down.
He also made sure to log everything he did.
---
Day 3
Software was fast.
Hardware … was not.
To ensure that he understood exactly how the machine worked, he needed to reset the machine to how it was before he made changes. If he moved a manipulator, then he needed to set it back. It took a long time between each tests.
It was tedious.
---
Day 6
Controlling one manipulator was done. He could do it. It wasn’t fluid. But he could do it.
But he couldn’t control all of them at the same time.
---
Day 10
He could now control all of the long manipulators.
Now he needed to write the program for the fine manipulators.

Day 16
“You want to test out your Khopesh?” Vanessa asked Chrysalismon, and he made the large machine chirp in acknowledgement. “In the dungeon?”
They were at the back of the house now. The property was now properly walled off with tightly constructed fences, which he made with her help as part of his long manipulator calibration.
He made the machine chirp twice in negative, and then he pointed to the wooden table padded with a lot of wool for comfort.
“Huh? When did that get there?” she muttered.
He turned to her and showed her a screen. On it, he wrote, “[Athena helped me acquire the table.]”
For some reason, his partner went a little red. Her eyebrows and cheeks twitched but she smiled for him.
Did he do something wrong?
“O… Okay. What did you want to show me?” she asked him.
He used two of the long manipulators to pat the wool-covered table.
“You want me to sit?”
Chirp chirp.
“Lay down?”
Chirp.
Shrugging, she walked over and laid down on her back. “Now what?”
Chirp chirp.
“I laid down… you want me to lay down on my front?”
Chirp.
She did, though she looked a little nervous now.
“Okay, now what?”
He made the Khopesh walk over and stand next to the table.
His long manipulators reached down and -.
“O-Oh, that’s a good spot,” Vanessa moaned as she crossed her arms underneath her head and laid her head on it. She sighed as she relaxed while Chrysalismon, while piloting the modified Khopesh, worked to press down on the “knots” that human muscles developed after being stressed and overused. At least, according to one of the files he found. It was crucial for such “knots” to be removed before other forms of relaxation can begin.
This was also part of the long manipulator calibration. If he failed here, then he would have to go back to fine-tuning the program’s variables and he sorely did not want to do that. It was not fun. It was not a play. It was work and Chrysalismon did not like it. But he did it this far because this was for his partner’s fun and relaxation so Yggdrasil be damned if this didn’t work out, he was going to go down to the dungeon by himself and play til -!
“Oh~, yes,” she moaned as she loosened up completely. “That’s the spot. Right there. Right there between the shoulders~.”
He was not a Keramon anymore. Play was good but only after work was done.
The rounded tips of the long manipulators, which were maybe four human fingers thicks, pressed down on the knots and gently rolled around. The pressure seemed to loosen up the knots a little, but that alone wasn’t good enough.
Here, Chrysalismon pulled out his second tool and one much easier to use than the fine feelers or the long manipulators: a heater.
Electricity traveled through the long manipulators and awakened the insulated metal bits inside the rounded tip, and he made sure to press it firmly against her muscles.
“Ooohh… so warm…!” she giggled and sighed in relief.
“AH!”
Vanessa jerked up abruptly. “I was suppose to go to the dungeon today! We’re running out of money!” she screamed out.
Chrysalismon blinked from within the Khopesh’s servers as Vanessa rushed off the bed and towards the familia house to get her gears. “Oh, Chrysalismon, thank you for the massage! I’ll definitely get some more if you’ll let me~!”
And then she was gone like a torrent of rain. Here and then suddenly not here anymore.
Chrysalismon tilted its top half of the cocoon like body.
Massage? He wasn’t trying to do massage. That was just step one like the files said. He was supposed to take it a few steps further into something called …
… Well, she enjoyed it this time with just the preparation phase. He was sure that she’ll enjoy the rest of what he planned out.
