♦ Topic: Batarian Raids BB, ends in Failure

In: Boards ► North America ► East Island ► Brockton Bay

I’m posting this as soon as I got a confirmation of the situation on the ground. Or the air, really.

The Batarians tried to raid Brockton Bay on June 17, 2011 at 8:01 a.m.. They were first spotted by the Coast Guard, who were too slow to intercept. The navy was occupied at the same time, leaving the city defenseless. They obviously came in after scouting out the nation’s defenses just like they did at Georgia.

What they didn’t expect was to encounter Brockton Bay at its most BB-ness.

The Batarians who tried to attack the Trainyards found themselves facing a rage dragon and pirate flotilla. The raiders who came for Downtown met a PRT-Protectorate-New Wave-indie honey badger. Apparently, they fight harder against aliens than the local villains. Raiders who tried their luck to the south got jumped by the Four Musketeers and the Bay Ghosts. Those that tried further south got shredded by AA guns and capes hired on by the new money in town, Alan Marris; Dommy_Mommyed_AI was right about Marris being dangerous. Even the E88 got their pound of the flesh when raiders who managed to get off tried to run to the west but instead ran into them.

By last confirmed sighting of the alien raiders, the Raid on Brockton Bay ended at 1:44 p.m.

Then as soon as the Truce came to an end because all of the alien raider shuttles have been shot down, the powers of the cities started fighting each other to salvage their tech. E88 was the luckiest of them all in this regard because they took care of an isolated group of raiders deep within their territory, so no one bothered to show up and contest it. The most contested salvage was right in the heart of the Docks where lesser known villains and indies tried to take a downed Batarian shuttle for themselves. All of them were kept at bay by a newcomer to the scene, Swarm (name pending).

Overall, what everyone outside of Brockton Bay expected extensive damage, morale hit to the nation, and general mayhem to the city turned out to be … Brockton Bay’s Tuesday.

What the hell are they feeding people over there? The entire state of Georgia and whatever is left of Florida gets occupied by a foreign force but a single city repels an attack? Oi, what the hell am I paying taxes for?!

It was super scary but then the Four Musketeers came out of nowhere around where I live, and started blasting the aliens! Black Sebastian is hawt when he is being all confident and strong.

ABB performed a duty that it promised the bay’s asian community. Let no one say that we go back on our word.

Oh ho ho? I’m hot? I’m glad youngsters think so.

I’m happy to see that I have done a good job defending my new home.

Well, damn. Two capes chiming in. Hey, can you tell us what the fighting was like?

I doubt it was anything worth remembering. Bagrat said aliens barely got to land, remember?

^ what he said.

And the only place that the xenofucks actually ran on their own feet was over in E88 territory. I doubt our butler cape was there.

You are right that it isn’t something worth remembering, especially since I didn’t attack and left it all to my friends.

:D he actually responded. Today is a good day.

@Bagrat

Yo, do you have any info about the placement of the capes and the sites of their defense? I want to see if it is something that can be adopted here in my city.

Posted on June 17, 2011:

I doubt he does. A lot of the defenders outside of Downtown were previously unknown capes who all used some sort of System magic or magecraft. A lot of it looked almost spontaneous, too. The only place that wasn’t came from the south of the city where that multi-millionaire has his stuff.

Yeah, I don’t have anything about exact locations. What I do know is that aside from the Wards, all of the Protectorate was deployed alongside all combat ready PRT agent and New Wave, which included their second gens.

Then do we have any solid number on how many defenders there and who they were? ABB and their pirate friends, obviously. PRT, Protectorate, and New Wave. Millionaire Landlord and his mercs (but how many?), the Four Musketeers, a bunch of the ghosts, and who else?

The Empire protects its own.

The empire barely did anything. Too scared to come out when “weaker” races are out here doing a good job you can’t?

Well, there’s no need to reply to that. @Mods!

Edit: keke, got stranger’ed

KEK. That’s how it rolls down from above to the dumb degens.

Speaking of which, WHY IS EVERYONE STILL FIGHTING?

Bagrat (Original Poster)(Guy in the Know)

Posted on June 17, 2011:

It’s because of the “Element Zero” which can be found in Batarian technologies. Because this particular material can’t be found in the solar system (according to intel gathered by CIA), Batarian technologies are the only sources of this wonder material.
