How do I get the previous models on MMF with the pre-supports? In particular Set 11 I got from September? Ruins of Madness.

epic_miniatures

Hello Aaron, the pre-supports of the older sets (older then set #21) are not on MMF yet. We are working to update those. Please download them from Patreon until then.

I'm new to 3D printing. How do I know whether the thick or thin supports will work better for me?

Anonymous

OK. I just signed up for your Patreon. And I'm thoroughly blown away by the amount of great sculpts you get. This has to be twice or three times the amount of sculpts in a month that you get with other patreons. Wow. Can't wait to print some of these up. Thank you kindly. Keep up the good work :)

As a fellow user, I tend to go with the thicker supports on the larger models that are heavier on my build plate. That being said sometimes I use the non-supported file and add supports myself, as sometimes I feel more or less are needed. The only way to tell on your own 3D printer is to try printing one and seeing how it turns out. I have an Elegoo Mars 3 if that helps.

Hey folks, I have a question for you. How do you normally add bases to your flying models? For example in #32 - Sky Dominion you have an Archangel, and once adding its wings it doesnt really stand straight. Do you all suggest any particular bases or methods to add those bases?

Anonymous

hello could you help me with something? What would be the suggestion of support for the house of elves?

Anonymous

I use the Flying Bases from MZ4250. Reaper also has clear flying bases for sale but printing them is always easier

epic_miniatures

Hello, I don't understand the question I am afraid. Are you asking how you should support the elf houses?

Anonymous

Hi I'm a new supporter. Do I have to download the pre-supported thin or thick?

epic_miniatures

Hello Felix, thank you for your support! I would suggest going for the thick supports. I will add the thin supports to MMF so you can download them anytime you need after the redeem emails.

Anonymous

I love your work, every month the set is absolutely fantastic and among a field full of fierce competition I still find your product to be one of the best! Keep it up!

epic_miniatures

Thank you for your kind words! We do our bests to make creative and themed sets every month. We will start revealing the February models soon too. 😃

Yes! I'm trying to print the model “house of the elves” but it doesn't have the model with the support. is there any guidance to perform the printing of this model?

Steven Crawford

FYI, for set #38 which you just uploaded to MMF, you are missing pre-supports for 1401-1420. Instead, your Presupport files contain duplicate copies of 1422-1444.

Anonymous

I just came to note the same issue as Mr. Crawford. Presupports for set #38 (Burning Sands) zip part 1 are duplicates of the sets in zip part 2. Pre-supports are missing for sets 1401-1420.

Michael Abraham

Set # 38 presupported burning sands is missing pt 1 only pt 2 is present

Steven Crawford

Actually I see what you mean, it seems the "supported" version of this model is unsupported?

Anonymous

Love them all! Is the Dropbox link ready yet?

Anonymous

Love them! Super cool thank you very much :)

Can you please update your descriptions from "A few GB big" to "over 20 GB per release", It's greatly misleading . I love the miniatures but holy shit I cant download that much constantly, I live rural. Again love the miniatures.

epic_miniatures

Hello, if you can't download everything, I would strongly suggest you to use our MMF redeem emails that we send out every month. This way the sets will be available to download anytime you need them from MMF.

Anonymous

Is there a way to redeem these on MMF so I don't lose access after the month is over?

epic_miniatures

Hello Aaron, yes. As stated in this post, the January models will be distributed on the 8th February with MMF redeem emails. 😃

Anonymous

Yes it should be great to find them on my mini factory like Artisan Guild does.

Hello everyone, please forgive the question, I'm brand new to resin printing. How large a build plate would I need in order to print the gargantuan figures? Let's take the Dracolich as an example. I see that there are different files for an intact (one piece) stl file, and for it to be broken up in more manageable pieces (left wing, right wing, body, etc). My build plate is 192mm(L), 120mm(W), and 245mm(H). Can this handle the gargantuan models or would any of you recommend breaking up these bad boys up? I really appreciate any help!

Mara Oliver

Hi, I am new here too :) It's my first month with epic miniatures and I subscribed thinking I'd get a set a month. XD Boy was I wrong in the best way possible. I am spoiled for choices now with so many minis tho choose from and it seems that goodness is every month. If only I had a bigger space than my tiny flat, I'd save some money and get like a Phrozen Mega 8K - I just started painting and was already never gonna finish all that I print - now there is just no way in ever and I love it. As a side note - I read your FAQ and had a good chuckle. "Q:Why don't you give us your models for free? A: ...Sadly we cannot do that..." Sadly? XD That would be insane. How can anybody think such amazing work should be free? I want you to keep doing these awesome minis - so you need to be able to live off of that - so I will gladly GLADLY pay. Thank you for being awesome creators and keep on rocking!

Anonymous

Hello ! Which file everyone use for when a mini dont come with a base

Anonymous

EC3D has a ton of really good free bases on Thingiverse

epic_miniatures

Thank you for your kind words Mara! We do out best to give out as many awesome minis every month as possible. 😃

epic_miniatures

Hello, we send out MMF redeem emails one month after release. The redeem email for the January models will be on the 8th February for example.

epic_miniatures

Hello, the Dracolich is split in parts so that it can print on a normal sized resin printer like the Elegoo Mars. Please don't print the "One Piece" version if you are new to resin printing. If something is split in multiple pieces, it is probably best to print it that way also. 😃 If you need further help, you can join our discord where our Patrons can give you advice: https://discord.gg/Pha4vvkK

Speaking of bases, some models really do not look like they will stand up on a base. Specifically angry female villager and large Dracolisk. Could anyone tell me that I am wrong or share how they get models like them to adhere to a base?

Anonymous

Hi there! I just joined and I so excited to start printing! Quick question: I assume the redeemed files will stay accessible indefinitely on MMF? But will you only include the thin support files or both thin and thick support files on MMF? Trying to figure out what I'll need to download from here before the end of the month. Thank You!

epic_miniatures

Hello, yes the redeemed files will stay on MMF and you can download them whenever you want. The thin supports are being uploaded to MMF.

epic_miniatures

Hello Tom, for flying models like the Dracolisk, I would suggest adding thin transparent cylinders where you see fit to support the main body. The female villager should be small enough to be glued on the base directly.

Anonymous

Hello, new patreon as well and wondering if there are supported files somewhere. Or maybe I missed them. Thanks!

Anonymous

Found them. Thanks! They were in a separate folder near the bottom. Thanks!

Anonymous

Question, and maybe other Patrons can speak to this too. I've been supporting you guys for a long time and I love the files. I print them regularly. Recently I noticed that the minis I print from you are smaller than regular miniatures I can buy at a store. Should I be scaling up my models before I print, or is that the size they should be? Thanks, and keep up the great work!

Anonymous

hi there, what scale are your miniatures?

epic_miniatures

Hello Connor, every model we release is scaled to 28mm scale. If you need 32mm, you can get that by scaling the models up to 114% on your slicer. 😃

epic_miniatures

Hello Nathan, every model we release is scaled to 28mm scale. If you need 32mm scale, you can get that by scaling the models up to 114% on your slicer. 😃

Sean John

Is there any way for EM to employ professionals to support the models? Waiting this long for valid supports is becoming a bit of a turn off when most patreons have them the day of release or a few days after.

Anonymous

One thing to consider is that most other patreons are not creating nearly a hundred models a month. Most of the others, at least of the ones I have discovered, are maybe a couple dozen or less. And the thick supports are available on release day, at least during the last year since I have been subscribed. While my preference is the thin supports I have printed many models with the thick supports and they work well.

Anonymous

Except the fact that half of the thick supports go straight into the face of the model, or the orientation of the model is just terrible. I mean, we could at least get the .lys for the thick supports if that was a strong argument.

Toasty Snailz

I just started supporting this February. Will I be able to add the January pack to MMF?

Anonymous

I can’t find the my mini factory redeem code for January (first month full month as a patron). Do they go to the email on file at Patreon or do you have to already have a myminifacory account?

Anonymous

This isn't appearing in MMF for me and the links are gone now :(

Anonymous

I also seem to be missing the files for this on MMF. I was going through my files last night and realised these had been corrupted but I can't download them again. Could you please help me out?
