Hello, it is time for our first May update. The first of the two new sets is called the "Dark Swamp" and will contain many swamp themed models. May will have 2 new sets again with ~40 models each (~80 new models in total). Hope you will like our updates.

And we slowly will change our render style. Please comment on what you think about it. 😃

Mace Snail - This snail that you can find in the Dark Swamp is known for its valuable shell. Getting the shell may be more difficult then you imagine though.

Snake Witch - This infamous witch has specialized in controlling snakes and snake transformation. A swamp is the perfect place for her to live, don't you think?

Revealed 4 of ~80 new May models. More to be shown soon.

Thank You!

The new render style is much better! I felt like the old style made your models look far less detailed than they actually are.

Posting for positive comments about the new style!

Love the new render style! The depth with the lighting and front/back style is just great. Also FLAIL SNAIL!

I feel the new renders are maybe a bit too dark? It's harder for me to see what's going on with them than in the old style

epic_miniatures

Thank you for the feedback Austin. If more Patrons have the same concerns, we will adjust accordingly. 😃

These new renders are cool. The more dramatic lighting and shadows make the images look less flat than the orange ones in my opinion. I also think reversing the background image is better because you get to see more details. It's great to see a mini for the flail snail! I think painting one could be a fun experience.

I love the new renders! These look great!

I agree with the others. New render style gives a much better view of the actual model details.

The renders are 100% improvement on the light orange ones, I will admit in the past i did not patreon here due to the renders which in the past did not level up to others offering similar services. These now look more professional and do highlight the details. Maybe a tad too dark and shiny but they have a punch and that is what you need for gaining new custom, people need to be grabbed seeing the image initially.

Gary Francis

I agree that the new renders are much more effective then the old.

epic_miniatures

Thank you for the feedback! Now we need to catch up our backlog with the same render style. 😃

The old ornate renders obscured some of the details by making the surface look mottled or strangely textured. The new renders show the details in a way that shows off detail much better. I expect a massive jump in your patron numbers in the next couple months as this render style shows your work much better

I love the new renders but can't help but think there's a missed opportunity for "flail snail" lol

epic_miniatures

With missed opportunity you mean to name the snail that way? Sadly we can't since it is taken already. You can name it that though. 😉

Rob Leonard

FLAIL SNAIL!! :) Great models and I like the new render format.

Benoit Michaux

The new render is much better. A little too dark, maybe.

I do like the new render as well. Like others posted the dark areas, are a little to dark. But still looks great. There was something about the orange that will be missed though. They stood out haha!

epic_miniatures

Thank you for your feedback Logan! We will miss the orange renders too but times change and we need to change with it. Lets hope the Maroon (or Tuscan Red) renders will stand out as much as the Orange ones. 😃

The new renders definitely look better than the old. The orange always made it look quite different from the actual STL, and it was not a difference in favor of the model. The plain STL viewed in Chitubox generally looked better than the orange render in my opinion, the orange renders had a habit of adding strange looking details where there were not any and hiding detail where there was.

The renders are a great improvement.

Ramiro Carrasco Jr.

Please, make that in Large and Huge! It's so freaking cool.

Sean John

Love the flail snail! I liked the orange renders as they popped on the store but I understand the change.

Sean John

I do really like that the size is included in the picture though!

Yann Taniou

Ah ah, the most terrifying of all evil créatures... The flail snail... I love it ^^. Auto include in my collection. 😁

I'm probably in the minority, but I preferred the orange for a few reasons: 1) I always knew it was either from this Patreon or another couple whose work I really like whenever I saw orange figures, and even if I forgot to check who sent out an email, I always got excited once the first hint of orange loaded up. To me, it is iconic for the brand. 2) The orange shows detail better, instead of as many shadows. 3) The orange diffused light and made it more even, instead of showing something that wouldn't be the case either on printing or at time of finished painting (for most people at least). 4) The little bits of texturing that did come through with the orange seemed stylized, and easily feasible with painting technique if someone did want to do that. It didn't feel super-smooth, which made it feel more real, even if orange. This Tuscan red is a bit too dark, has a bit too much shine, and the light isn't diffused as before, making it feel more stiff and locked to downcast light, instead of more generalized.

I like the new renders. Love the reverse image with the model. Would be nice if the background images were a bit brighter so you can se the details better.

Brian Robbins

I love the renders of the new images.....but I prefer the light orange color. To me, it makes it easier to see detail.

epic_miniatures

Hello Micah, thank you for the feedback! We won't stop with the orange renders just yet, they will be included to download at the end of the month. We will have two different render styles for a few months. For previews, we will try the new renders though.

epic_miniatures

Hello Brian, thank you for the feedback! The orange renders are not gone yet. We will include them at the end of the month for download. For previews, we will try the new renders though.

Gilrornomma

The new rendering style is soooo much better then the orange colour Imo.

Steve Myers

I wasn't a fan of the orange. It makes the models look much more flat than the excellent deep cuts of the actual miniatures.

epic_miniatures

Thank you! We will continue revealing our new models in this new style, but we will also include the orange ones at the end of the month. 😃
