I'm wondering if maybe the mixt and dark images got switched? Because the dark image appears lighter than the mixt. That being said. Now that the armor is off, I prefer the darker two because the armor doesn't blend into the background now.

Indeed one might think that the images are reversed, but it is the color of the skin, more bright than the armor, that gives this impression. What I defined as Dark is the accentuation of shade. The mixt version is a mix between shadow and low saturation of the light version.
