I absolutely love your videos like this! I love the break down of the cards and how to find better synergy. Then watching game knights to see how everything moves together in game! Priest of the Forgotten Gods!! I thought for sure I was going to see that when you started talking about overlap.... draw, removal, ramp(mana source), sac outlet... absolutely brutal in most decks that run black, especially in the sac or aristocrat veins. No biggy, a personal favorite, was hoping to see it highlighted is all. I'm only about halfway through, so maybe I'll be eating crow by the end.

I think you’re conflating the point a bit when you say “the format is faster” so run only 2mv ramp and 12 pieces of card draw. Closer to the point is that YOU are playing faster so instead of building a 5-6 power deck you’d rather build a 7-8 power deck. The more casual your meta the slower your deck can be. You are perpetuating arms races by insisting decks be leaner, faster and more precise.

It's not us. It's just the way of things. You don't think the format is going to evolve when they design 500+ new cards for it every single year? The power scale is not static. It's relative. What was a power 5 deck in 2016 is not a 5 today. That's the way it goes. -JLK

This was super helpful! There are a few decks I'm revisiting with this strategy in mind, like my Tuvasa deck which was proving to be a tricky build. The benefit of many years of deckbuilding experience can be felt throughout as well as a profound love for the game and its community!

Since I'm new to commander this has been extremely helpful, luckily my first deck (Zaxara) was fairly consistent with this.

with my Atla deck I took out creature ramp and this also helped me with my new deck
