I had to give some advice in this regard to a person to whom I was loaning a deck. It was mono black control and I had like 30 seconds to tell them what to do if they drew a tutor but didn't know what to do with it. I ended up telling them, "if in doubt, get Phyrexian Arena". They won the game so the advice couldn't have been that bad :)

Having some Commander Decks and often lending them to other people I have a deck „cheat sheet“ I also put in the Deckbox. There I write down Archetype, Powerlevel, (short) Gameplan, Wincons & Combos, best Tutor targets. This way people can have fun fast while don’t knowing the deck in detail. Also helps while talking about Power Levels and which Deck to bring to the table.
