Fridays are for suffering bouts of insomnia due to night shifts, but remaining steadfast in one's duty.
This week's primary focus has been the 3k Twitter celebration, which numerical relevancy is now overshot by more than 2200 people, which means it is high time to get it done and maybe turn it into a 5k celebration at the same time because the gods know I won't be able to keep up with the numbers. A good problem to have, some would say, and I am inclined to agree in spite of my complaints. I reckon I'll try to whip up a 5k celebration wallpaper as well for the heck of it, naturally by polling you people on the character(s) featured :)
Regarding Project 3K, the initial scene setup is extremely harsh on the RAM load already, and I cannot for the life of me figure out exactly what models are causing it, which means I am limited in my immediate potential build on the project. As many of you might be aware of, SFM begins to struggle when it reaches around 2.5k RAM usage, which is rather abysmal all things considered. Chances are we'll try splitting it up in multiple sessions, provided the scene carries over smoothly, in order to squeeze in a few more customers turns to feature. For this purpose, I am writing a new script for it, which can hopefully suit the new structure that would entail, and which I hope to share with you in the near future. I am sincerely hoping that I haven't managed to paint myself into a RAM corner with this, like a certain ill-fated past project of mine, especially considering the amount of time that has already gone into it. But, as mentioned above, we shall prevail.
A Halloween themed piece is also in the planning stages, starting early this year, with a Resident Evil setting to it because hey, spooky month and RE goes hand in hand in my eyes. It'll be a loop, tops, but most likely an intricate wallpaper, so as to not cut too much into our other work schedule. More on this in the near future as well.
Commission work is underway, and I hope to have the final 2 finished up for next week before I begin contacting a handful of people again. This week turned out to be something of a brutal exercise at work, so I hope they'll be kinder to me next.
Autumn is shaping up to feature some interesting stuff, so keep your eyes out for the upcoming polls in order to make your voice heard for what we do next, and - as always - thank you for sticking with me in these hard times, and for all of your kind words. DH shall now proceed to finally get some blissful sleep, all but ensuring his weekend will be a weird one indeed :)
Take care of yourselves, as well as each other!
