Progress report is a-go!

Short story time. Over the last year or so, my old HDD has been showing signs of capitulation. It's an old 2TB beast, and it's been with me since the release of Battlefield 3, which means it's suffered systemic abuse by my constant, incessant use. As you can see above, this week I decided to finally bite the bullet and move my Source Filmmaker library over to my new HDD - a purchase as recent as last month. This did not come without its own birth pains - my old HDD in particular struggled to transfer the sheer amount of data and took a good full day before finally sputtering to a halt, the process finished. Following that, I had to troubleshoot as, naturally, launching SFM instantly meant error messages galore, followed by library path finding issues, followed by crashes caused (as I realized after quite a while) by some specific files trying to be re-downloaded from the steam workshop, and a whole bunch of other minor issues. When I went to bed yesterday, I was unsure whether I would get it to work again, or if I would have to clean install the whole damn thing, which was disheartening to say the least.

Finally however, as I found the time today to sit down and once again grab the beast by the horns, things have been resolved! Thus, all session files, all models and project progress has successfully been transferred to the new HDD, which means we are in the clear and have succeeded in securing this stuff for the future. It's only a matter of time before my old HDD dies on me, so this was really, really called for.

Thus, while my work progress this week has been minimal, I've managed to get a huge weight off of my shoulders, and have (hopefully) ensured that I won't be yet another creator in the long line of creators having to tell their audience that they lost all their work because their HDD died.

Again, primary focus this month will be Lady of the Woods 2. It's been cooking for quite some time, and I am really anxious to get it done. Following that, the idea is to crank away at more Mass Effect stuff, and then, perhaps, we'll touch some more obscure projects :)

As always, thank you so much for your continued support, and for all of your kind words! This last week's been a testing one, but finally, with illness and HDD transfer behind us, the road lies open for some serious work :)

All the best, and take care of yourselves, and each other!
