Just a (disorganised) list to keep you in the loop of my progress though the jumble that is currently the olde cookbook kit.

These are the things i'm currently working on. Everything's a bit messy right now.. But i've been asked a lot about it so I thought it would be easier to make a sort of temporary tracking list.

There is no time frame as to when this will be finished.

All ingredients -

  • basically remaking the packages (appearances are the same, behind the scene fixes eg. place on floor error fix, showing in plant pots (oops) etc- working on

Animals -

  • same as above, new packages (appearances are the same, behind the scene fixes eg. place on floor error fix, showing in plant pots (oops) etc- done
  • Freshness decay/price decrease - working on

  • Animal Mounts - planned
  • Animal Bundles - planned

The Forest - Hunting

  • Hunting skill - working on
  • Chance/Choice cards - working on

General Fixes/tweaks working through:

  • Injured bear attacked sims can no longer partake in hunting and foraging

Once i've made some decent progress I will release a test version for you to check out. I have also made a bug report spreadsheet - here that you can make reports. Feel free to start adding any errors you have found in the current version so I can keep a record and make sure I haven't missed anything.

Is it possible to add cook off the grid to the custom stoves? Right now we need a regular stove to access EA cook off grid option

I would love some new plants for some (not all) of the plants and nuts foraged! Maybe even a special seed that's rare? or a foraging skill! I love this mod and cant wait to see more!

I can definitely start planning for a foraging skill (once the hunting one is done and finished so I don't start getting confused aha) I'm looking a lot into how best to implement choosing what you want your sims to forage/hunt without it being too easy.. or repetitive. A skill would be good for this too :)

I'm always thinking of new recipes and hopefully will be able to add a few for the next release but for the next update I'm mainly focusing on tidying up/ expanding the signpost aspect. But of course, if you have any specific recipes in mind i'll put aside some time to try squeeze them in! :)

I would love expanded hunting. For example, if you hunted and caught a deer you could separate and use the fur and meat. Sell it or use it in some way smoke the meat make jerky etc You could make a living off of rabbit holes being a hunter and trapper mining, cutting wood searching for gold

I would love more recipes that don’t require ingredients that weren’t available in Europe before 1600. Tomatoes, potatoes, tea, etc. Maybe add some forgeables or harvestables like parsnips and turnips.

Look for herbs/plants to help make medicines for an apothecary? That might be cool too!
