Patreon Safety, Doxxing, Tracking ETC (Patreon)

Hi everyone! 

I have become aware of multiple posts cropping up on tumblr about recent events of personal information being leaked between certain cc creators. I'm not 100% sure what has happened and i'm not sure which party's are involved but I know a lot of people are worried about the safety of their personal details when using patreon. 

I want to assure you that I would never share any personal information with anybody! The only information I can see when you pledge is the name of your account and the email address linked to the account.

I would also like to address that I would never put trackers or anything of the sort into any of my mods/cc. I don't know how to do that and from what i've read it seems to be creators who ask you to DM them and they send you a private link, assuming they may have added the name of the person in the cc somewhere but i'm not sure. So hopefully this will put some of you at ease that the majority of the creators you support wont be adding trackers.

Whilst I know that mods/cc of mine get reuploaded elsewhere, it's not something that would drive me to share any information / add trackers etc to my downloads. Which on another note, a gentle reminder to be careful where you download any content from - especially if it is not from the original creator. 

If you are concerned about your personal information being shared, consider using a username that is not your real name. Not using any pictures of you, your family etc and using an email address that doesn't contain any personal information about you.
