What interesting thing can be used as money in the post-apocalyptic world?

Once economies fall, you look to any barter/trade system until a token economy can be installed to take its place. So in theory anything could take it's place. You could base an entire economy off gummy fish.

Yeah, i know it, but i think to use something interesting and memorable, like bottle cap in fallout.

I’ve been thinking maybe used batteries, like bottle caps when you drink a bottle you get the cap, so you use the battery it becomes currency.

you could use fallouts system of bottlecaps. ammo, different types of ore like iron, copper, etc
