The mechanical release on the front doors of the Tesla's is very obvious and easy to use. I brief every passenger on the mechanical vs electrical release, but why Tesla doesn't make it more obvious in the documentation is really a negative. For the back seat, most kids could just climb into the front seat to escape. I can see that the requirement for child locks on rear doors could negate the ability to have a mechanical release. Those child locks seem like an issue for all cars as far as escape goes.

You can get a spring loaded punch to break the glass rather than trying kicking out a window. However, no matter what kind of tool you use, it has to be easily reachable by the driver and front seat passenger (one or two tools).
