Alright everyone...so as embarrassing as it is, after using chitubox since December, I finally realized theres an "edit support" button. As of today, Im finally able to implement it on the male fire oracles. Being able to keep those tiny supports that are shoved between two important parts of the mesh is great but takes a lot of extra eyeballing and fine tuning. Now that I know how to properly create supports its taking quite a bit longer with these 30-50mm tall minis. Dragons will still be much easier than these. That being said, I had to choose to support the main two poses for the male oracles and not all 7 variations. In the coming months, I may decide to reach out to someone that very confident in their support creation skill.

Files

So i became i patreon today so i have not had enough time to check through most files, but from what i can tell you putting a lot of work on yourself with these supported files with very little gain. For example i just ran parts of your printer ready files through photon file validator and i found after auto fixing the pixel errors, that just for the one part i looked at ( i think the head was it) about 40 unsopported island remain, most of them are super small, but a few are over 100 pixels, that will print in thin air. I dont blame you for that, cause doing it by hand i wouldnt be able to do it better. I advise you to try the following easy workflow to get completly island free chitubox files : 1) Load stl into prusa slicer (uf in the current release hollowing is not included=( ) 2) Auto support with 1 mm 80% (prusa will actually get all the islands, but will fail to generate supports on certain areas, they are howver easily spotted and can be removed for now 3)Export model and supports as STL 4) Load into Chitubox and slice 5) take the sliced file into photon file validator and do the auto fix 6) manually go to all the errors that are left, and connect the pixels so they will be connected 7) congrats you have a complete absolutly island free file In case of a giant island that is completly unconnected, you may have to go back to prusa and add that support Prusa also got now a hollow mode in its newest beta release, i have not had the chance to test it uf (btw i dont mind providing sliced files for the models i actually print and that worked, it just will take a long time to work through my backlog^^)

Id have to first ask, what files did you check? I can say without hesitation, there are places that islands occur, on many of these models. Some of which do not get supported. Where I do miss a couple very critical points, once in a while, the test prints come out very nice. I wouldnt supply them to people if they didnt. You definitely want to specify what files, because that can help me a lot. Having printed over 1000 hours at this point, with no failures, Ive started to learn which small islands I can ignore. Iam guilty of missing larges spots once in a while though. Let me know though.

I didnt mean this as an attack or something, even when i think i perfectly support things, file validator will find loads of islands^^ I just wanted to point out to you that you put lots of work into the supported files, but automated supports could take away quite a lot of work and end up with perfect island free end files There are 2 Reasons for the islands: 1) If you imagine the continious sculpt get broken down into pixels, in corners between empty and model single unconnected pixels will appear while slicing, those can be auto fixed with photon, but they usually are not a problem regarding printing. At 1000 layers high prints that can be up to a few hundred depending on geometry 2) Very small island that get overlooked, they are mostly still fine and the print will most often come out fine, but you still have danger regarding floating mini island that can but dont have to cause harm (not very likely) If you are really curious just take one of the finished print ready files and let it run through the file validator.

oh no no! I may be a sensitive creature :D but I know that the fastidious steps of creating supports is not my strong suit. Partially due to my impatience and a smaller percentage due to chituboxes limitations. II actually took a couple of those suggestions and practiced them on me support creation of the "Flayed Aberration" that I just put pics up of. One of the last things I want to do is have someone think they cant help, because my responses seem defensive. I appreciate it, Ben. I was truly curious of the files you were speaking of because I was mad at myself for leaving a couple large ones out. I did that on a couple dragons and I absolutely HATE giving you guys flawes support files
