Finally thought of a "real" question: during the Hitchhiking trip, did your Japanese noticeably improve because (I'm assuming, whoops) an increased reliance on it? Or were you still using English enough while recording and during calls to Kyde that it didn't change so much? Also, what about dealing with any regional dialect/colloquialisms? Having a couple co-workers in the Kanagawa prefecture, one of which is originally as far west as Hiroshima, they've mentioned how another coworker's speech/dialect is (to them) very different while only being from somewhere in Kyushu. Just thought that was interesting, that there could be so much variation in such a relatively small geographical area. And I ask all this on the video where you had very quiet car rides... yeah.
